A late starter in the game at 22, I kinda fell into DJing, though my passion for music has always been there!!! Whilst working in a bar and getting to be good friends with the resident DJ (tkno), I was given the oppertunity to become the Friday night resident and though i had no experiance as a DJ my musical knowledge got me through my learning period on the 1s & 2s. To this day i still say you dont have to be the most skilled DJ to rock a crowd as long as you know what to drop and when to drop it! My residency lasted a year there and i gained a bit of a rep, constantly being asked for mixed CDs because i was known to drop new tracks before anyone else in the area!
I took a little break from DJing in public but kept my name out there by releasing a series of well recieved mixtapes (Something now that i am most well known for!!!) Although i couldn't rest for long and soon started promoting acts as well, Not one to start small i brought one of the most famous DJs in the world to one of the biggest and best clubs in the area! Clinton Sparks at Tantrum nightclub (Bar Bluu) was a huge success and DJing alongside one of the greatest DJs in the world really opened my eyes! Since then i have put on shows and worked with top DJs such as DJ Drama, Mick Boogie, MistaJam And DJ B, And such artists as Ryan Leslie, Montell Jordon and Willie the Kid!!!! Not a bad list for such a short period of time im sure you'll agree!
And of course i had to make the next step up the ladder! You can catch me every Friday 7-9 on the RnG show, on 93.7 Express FM or at www.expressfm.com alongside my co-presenter Decyfa. Playing you the latest in Hip Hop, RnB & Garage as well as some real old classics. Look out for big things to come on the show, Already having world exclusives and interviewing artists such as MiMs, DJ Drama, Nathan & Lemar!!!
2008 saw my biggest year to date, as well as interviews on The RnG Show such as Dizzee Rascal, Robin Thicke, Gym Class Heroes & Sway. The show gained a reputation as the number 1 urban show in the south, With listeners all over the UK and sometimes all over the world! We’ve had messages from listeners in such places as USA, Holland, Germany & Spain. I DJ/hosted events for Jay Sean, Sway & Chipmunk. I also featured in a track called Wanna Buck, The video for which was filmed by a member of the BBC Radio 1 production team, and is due for release early 2009, As well as making cameos in other music videos. However my main success in 2008 was my reputation as a mixtape DJ. My first major release of 2008 saw UK RnB sensation Nathan host my Real O.G mixtape series. I also hosted & put together the Busta Rhymes Gifted & Blessed mixtape which was released worldwide. Because of my reputation as a mixtape DJ I now get request from artists all over the world to host theirs.
Now its all about 2 thousand & Grind!
