  • Bio

.. .. .. ...... .. NEW PROJECT - "Heartbeats" EP (Kanye West Remix Project) ...... .. ...... .. .. .. .. .. .. .."This is all just beginning for me. Even though the next day isn't promised to anyone, I'm confident and certain that I will continue to breathe life into music for years to come.".. .. .. Starting to produce at the age of 15, HaloSquared (also known as DjH2) spent hours and days working to perfect his craft in the art of producing, DJing and sampling. His hard work paid off after various forms of media, nightclub and internet exposure helped him become known as an underground phenom. .. .. Now at age 22, DjH2 has been labeled as a "beat prodigy" or an "old soul" whose work resembles the soul-swinging sounds of the late J Dilla. H2 has always been one to go back to the roots of Hip-Hop and Jazz - keeping things soulful and fufilling with crisp breaks over soulful samples. Even though sampling is the main pallette for most of H2's clean-cut production, he accenuates that it is only through the appreciation of history that he allows himself to sample songs of earlier eras. .. .. .."I sample only to put my own creative spin on a idea that was already built, or to bring to life a moment of a song that would have been only bypassed by certain ears. When I sample, I listen to every instrument the artist uses and I try to dig out that same amount of funk and soul the artist contributed to their work.".. .. .. However, in H2's latest release .."TalkingWalls".., he comes out swinging with a new sound. Involving the electronica/techno sounds of his early producing days, H2's sound has begun to stray away from the elements of sampling and more towards an organic sound. .. .. .."I love to sample and I feel like sampling is the cornerstone of Hip-Hop, but alot of record execs and Indie artists are against sampling. I figure in order for my music to reach a broader audience, I would have to put a spin on the way I make music and start adding my own funky elements.".. .. .. If there's one word H2 identfies himself with, it would be the word 'unique'. After album doing well digitally, a union with producers and artists such as Charles Hamilton, CL Smooth and Sciryl, H2 plans to soon change the way we all think about music, especially hip-hop. .. .. .. ........ ..Get Your Own!.. | ..View Slideshow.... .. .... .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. ............ ..Get Your Own!.. | ..View Slideshow.... .. .............................. .. ..Yes, it's true. • Sounds Like

I don't know what I sound like anymore. A mash-up of Miles Davis and Aphex Twin. A dash of J Dilla with a pinch of MF Doom and a half-teaspoon of Madlib. Stir in James Brown until funky. Add a portion of Fatboy Slim and The Chemical Brothers with a slice of Bebel Giberto mixed with some Radiohead. Many many MANY things sound LIKE H2, yet H2 strives to reproduce the sound of the world.
