Make it hard2def, Make it sweat!!!
Gehen wir zunächst einmal weg von den ausgelatschten Superlativen unserer Zeit, wo jeder Plattendreher zu den “meistgebuchtesten”, den “erfolgreichsten” und „renommiertesten“ DJs Deutschlands oder gar Europas gehört. Fern ab dieses mittlerweile allgemein gültigen Klischees gibt es aber noch andere, die mehr durch das bisherige Tun als durch die Werbung mit selten haltbaren Aussagen ihren Erfolg und ihre Qualität darstellen. Zu eben dieser Minderheit zählt sich DJ Hard2Def.
Mit mehr als einem dutzend Veröffentlichungen, die in Plattenkisten in Deutschland und Europa wieder zu finden sind, einer Club-Referenz, die Clubs in Deutschland, der Schweiz, Österreich und Frankreich listet und bereits jetzt wesentlich mehr Clubs führt als manche DJs in ihrem gesamten DJ-Dasein auflisten können, braucht Hard2Def sich nicht zu verstecken.

Seit 1999 als DJ in Clubs aktiv, begann er zeitgleich seine Karriere als Producer mit der Veröffentlichung seiner ersten Maxi „Bounce with me“, damals noch mit seinem „partner in crime“ Lazy-T. Die Maxi, die als 2.Maxi der „Handz Up“ Serie auf dem deutschen Kult-Label M-Pire Records released wurde, löste gleichermaßen Begeisterung bei DJs und Crowds auf nationaler Ebene aus und gilt nach wie vor als eine der gefragtesten Partybreak-Maxis Deutschlands. M-Pire Records releaste ingesamt 12 erfolgreiche Maxis in der „Handz up“ Serie, 4 davon aus der Schmiede Hard2Defs, stellte die Serie dann allerdings wegen der hohen Zahl von Nachahmern ein. Alle Breaks dieser Serie standen für einen Style und eine Qualität, die heute im Partybreak - überfluteten Deutschland nur noch selten, wenn überhaupt, anzutreffen ist und sichern sich damit ihren Rang als legendäre Releases. Im Rahmen dieser Projekte und des Auflegens lernte Hard2Def zahlreiche DJs kennen mit denen er sogenannte „VS“ Platten produzierte, gemeinsam setzte er mit seinem jeweiligen Partner also Ideen um, die beide DJs über die Jahre angesammelt hatten. So ergaben sich Zusammenarbeiten mit DJs wie Chilly T(„All my brothers“ Handz Up 12), Ray-D und Groove(„Let your body flow“, unreleased) oder RayDee(„Back to da Rhythm“ Handz Up 9). Letzterer entwickelte sich über die Jahre wie Illmatic Mike zu einem Mentor für Hard2Def und beide verbindet eine tiefe Freundschaft. Die beiden releasten auch zwischen 2001 und 2003 6 Maxis auf ihrem eigenen Label „CM-Records“, von denen einige zu den begehrtesten Partybreaks in Deutschland gehören. Außerdem stand und steht Hard2Def bis heute für Blackbookings, RayDee’s Agentur als DJ und Repräsentant hinter den Plattentellern ein. So tourte er unter anderem von 2003 bis Ende 2005 für Blackbookings und JamFM durch Deutschland und legte im Rahmen von „JamFM – The Party“ auf. Er supportete in all den Jahren zahlreiche Acts bei ihren Clubshows wie z.B. Redman, die Beatnuts, DJ Kool, Fatman Scoop, Mario Winans u.v.m. Mit Übertragungen auf JamFM oder auf Sendern wie Radio NRJ, Planet Radio und diversen Web-Radioshows ist Hard2Def auch in der Rundfunk-Welt regelmäßig am Start und platziert sich auch hier in den vordersten Rängen als DJ, der durch Style und Skills begeistert.

Neben diesem Trubel der DJ-Welt produziert Hard2Def nach wie vor seine eigene Musik. So produzierte er mit den beiden Offenbacher Künstlern Icebear und Mike K.Downing, die später auch ein Track auf DJ Tomekks Album „Numma Eyns“ featurten. 2005 produzierte er für den in Stuttgart ansässigen US-Amerikaner Jesse Al Malik die Maxi „Represent“. Als Remixer betätigte er sich für mehrere Projekte u.a. für Big Daddi’s Maxi „Get on the Floor“. Anfang 2006 schließlich produzierte er für den Newcomer DUB aus Frankfurt 3 Tracks auf dessen Debut „Unaufhaltbar“, das von Hiphop-Medien bundesweit positive Resonanz erhielt. 2008 produzierte Hard2Def wieder für Mike K.Downing den Titel „Freund oder Feind“ für dessen Album Körpersprache, eine Klavierballade im R&B-Kontext.

Was steht für die Zukunft an? Zum einen arbeitet Hard2Def weiter an seinem Studioprojekt. Zum anderen fasst sein Alter Ego „Goza“ im Bereich elektronischer Musik Fuß und für die Zukunft dieses Projekts steht so auch einiges an.

Dem DJing entsagt der Partybreaker natürlich nicht und so heißt es dann auch in Zukunft, wenn er an Mic und Plattentellern die Crowd rockt „Make it hard2def the defclusive way“.



Make it hard2def, Make it sweat!
First of all let’s go away from the overused words of these days, announcing that every second DJ or so-called DJ is one of the most booked, most popular and/or best rated record-spinners in Germany or even in Europe. Miles away from these clichés and the need to make themselves bigger than they are, you can find those, who impress people with quality, skills and their unique ability to rock the crowd. And Hard2Def counts himself to this minority in the spinning community. With over a dozen releases, played by DJs all over the globe and an overwhelming reference list of clubs in countries all over Europe, Hard2Def has not to hide himself.

Djing since 1999, he also started his career as a producer at the same time. His debut single “Bounce with me” on the legendary german oldschool label M-Pire Records, made DJs and crowds in european clubs go insane and still counts to the list of the most wanted partybreak vinyls. By producing one clubcrushing single after another Hard2Def made himself the godfather of the partybreak community in Germany and founded a movement, that still lives on. But after achieving his personal goals Hard2Def left this genre to move on to the next level: Producing music instead of remixing it. So he started to work with artists like Jesse Al Malik, Icebear, Mike K.Downing, Boulevard Bou, Big Daddi, D.U.B. and many more, and this work added another couple of records to his discography.

However he never stopped working as a DJ every weekend over all these years. In 2003 he joined the DJ-Family of Radio JamFM, Germany’s biggest urban radio station and played on the famous tours of the station, which were broadcasted live on german radio frequencies and on european satellite radio. Hard2Def also worked in the background of JamFM’s “Battle of the DJs” Tournament, proving that he also had(& still has) the ability to manage an event of major scale. After feeling that the time had come to move on, he left JamFM to have more time to produce his own music. He also supported Artists like Redman, the Beatnuts, Mario Winans, Fatman Scoop, Bone Crusher, Destiny’s Child, DJ Kool, Bubba Sparxxx and many more during their german and/or european tours, by playing warm-ups, after-shows or even as the DJ during the show on stage.

What is coming next? Well, Hard2Def still works as a producer with artists from Germany, the States and a couple of other countries. He also started producing electronic music using his Alter Ego “Goza”, whose first releases got possitive reactions from djs all over germany and the eastern european countries.

And last but not least, he still spins the records every weekend, making the crowd move the defclusive way!!!
