// WHO IS DJ HELICOPTER?
DJ HELICOPTER (a.k.a. Gordon Waze and Sunwoo) hails from one of the most
respected and admired house music havens of the globe – San Francisco,
California. Born in 2000, DJ Helicopter has rapidly become of the San
Francisco’s most sought-after DJ acts with a unique and distinctive tag-team
performance that combines two different style and techniques into one
dynamic, integrated experience. Whether carefully blending one funkier style
with another's darker style, or using one pair of hands to throw accapellas
into the other pair's mix, DJ HELICOPTER represents an ever-changing, and
oftentimes spontaneously inspired, performance.
DJ HELICOPTER has recently been in the studio, collaborating on productions
with Danny "Buddah" Morales and Manny Ward (both of whom are considered
close protégés of international legend, Danny Tenaglia).
// RESIDENCIES
DJ HELICOPTER also performs throughout San Francisco’s diverse house music
venues, which range from ultra-chic lounges to banging nightclubs. DJ
HELICOPTER’s main "launching pads" include PINK (owned by Naked Music’s
Franky Boissy), 1015 Folsom (www.1015.com), Supperclub, legendary ENDUP (San Francisco’s longest-running club 1973; www.theendup.com), and super-club Ruby Skye (home to Danny Tenaglia, Deep Dish, Paul Oakenfold, Pete Tong, and John Digweed), among others.
DJ HELICOPTER is also resident DJ at the world-renowned “DEEP END” house music day camp (www.thedeependcamp.com) of the annual Burning Man (www.burningman.com) festival, which gathers over 30,000 art, cultural and music enthusiasts from around the world.
DJ HELICOPTER's international forays include Seoul's top underground clubs (Circle, Tool, Cargo, Club OTWO, COD), as well as Indonesia, Panama City, and throughout Colombia (Cartagena, Bogota, Medellin, Barranquia, Santa Marta).
