My home town...tha' Lou!
If there is anyone who questions why I moved to Seattle...this is why!
Music
My love affair with music started at a very early age when I would push the boundaries of my father's record collection, and now I am inspired by just about every genre. I usually spin funky, soulful, deep-house and tech-house, but can also throw down hip-hop, downtempo, and disco. My personal cd collection ranges from classic big bands & contemporary hip hop, to import electronica and jazz.
I enjoy making people feel like they just can't help but get up and move, so right now my box o'recs contains mostly house, some tech house, lots of west coast and Chicago labels...not to mention mad support for the Northwest producers who are makin' dope tracks; such as Jacob London, LawnChair Generals and the Lost Boys.
Lately, I have been buying records that have some sort of electro influence.
I have promo cds available - or you can download my mixes in the 'hear me' section of
WWW.DJHYASYNTH.COM
Also check out www.oseao.com and search for 'Hyasynth' to listen to live mixes with the rest of the De La Creme crew.
Movies
I love classics like "An Affair to Remember", "Slap Shot", "Airplane", "Monty Python - the Holy Grail" and "The Meaning of Life", "So I Married an Axe Murder" and "Goodfellas". All of the Christopher Guest films ("Waiting for Guffman", "Best in Show", "A Mighty Wind", "For Your Consideration"). Plus all in the "Godfather" series. I also collect all of the SNL 'Best of' Series...can't decide which one is my favorite. Not to mention Dave Chapelle - I have seasons 1 & 2 memorized, but I will not support this Comedy Central sponsored crap. Block Party - what????
"Little Miss Sunshine" is my most recent favorite. Oh - can't forget "Basquiat" and "Ice Castles" too :)
Television
This is what I do INSTEAD of watching TV...
This little guy is more entertaining than any reality show (except Project Runway)...
Books
"The Secret Life of Bees", "Memoirs of A Geisha", "Tales of a Shaman's Apprentice", "Night", "The Four Agreements"
Heroes
My Father and Mother, Dorothy Hamill, DJ Heather, & Stevie Wonder.

I am a House DJ with De La Creme Soundsystem, a Professional Dancer with oaklanDrive Dance Company, a figure skater, dance floor starter, daily yoga practicioner, and botanist. I am also a lover of classic cars, comedy, hockey, and making people laugh...and I am working hard everyday to be the kind of person I would admire.
Who I'd like to meet: I am not here to aquire mass amounts of friends, so if you send a friend request and I don't accept it...please don't be offended. However, I do appreciate anyone who likes electronic music, or who can appreciate someone who does...anyone who can start a dance floor, not just participate once no one is looking at you. I like to surround myself with positive energy, so if you don't have any - stay away!!
