very deep subject, and I dont believe any one of us is really completely right about the subject. I am one of the lucky few I guess to not have "environment" really influence that area of my life. I have known my wife for 10 yrs. been married for 5 an we never have had a materially based relationship. I do understand the problems that the "scene" we chose presents to all of us, particularly to the single individuals. It IS disgusting to see love turned into marketing ploys to sell items like diamonds, flowers, cards, etc; to see people confusing lust for love; to see individuals give up on love and blame it for their lack of ability to form meaningful relationships. I guess it all comes down to what we learned of love as children through our parents and the media, an what we as individuals do with those messages. As for the real vs. lie conundrum, its hard for me to wrap my mind around how something can be a lie, yet still be real... :} Good discussion, its refreshing to see that people on myspace ARE capable of REAL conversations,without getting offended when someone challenges their view point. i'm sorry if what i said hurt you. i truly didn't mean to ''wish no love upon you.'' truly. i tend to react poorly when i think someone's attacking love.
my belief in love is one of my core values...so it's really sacred to me.
