Hey what's up?! My name is James Warren. I have been DJing in Dallas, TX for a little over 9 years. I had my first residency in 2001 at the now defunct Tunnel. Since then I have held it down at some Dallas' premier dance music venues including the world famous Lizard Lounge, Minc, ZuBar, and Eden. I love the artform of DJing, but more importantly, I love the people, and the music. You could just as easily find me on the dancefloor as you could behind the decks. The great people and artists I have met along the way are who keep me striving to do whatever it takes to better my edm community, as well as myself. I get into, and also play a lot of different styles of dance music. From deep house, to techno, bangin' house, electro, minimal, to just about everything. I like to keep my spectrum broad, and keep away from pigeon-hole(ing) myself into one paticular style, or sound. I feel this gives me a lot more freedom behind the decks, and also allows me to be able to play to just about any crowd. I have a couple projects going right now. One of which is called K.I.K. or Keep It Klean w/ a couple of long time buds, and DJs One fm, and Scott Phrenetik. I have known both of these guys for at least 9 years, and we have all been jamming together at clubs, and various spots in that time. Our goal w/ K.I.K. first, and foremost, is for ALL of our guests to have a good time. Also, a strong second, is to cover the spectrum of house in all shapes and sizes. A night where anything goes, just "Keep It Klean". We have had a couple of succesfull nights so far, and have some momentum brewing, so stay tuned for more K.I.K. parties to come. The other project I have is a duo I am a part of called Altered Beats w/ my boy Jayson Gold. I have known him since high school, and we have shared musical interests for a long time. We are more of a techno tag team. Focusing on dark, dirty, and driving rhythms ans some minimal. We have been getting booked in Dallas over the last couple years. We have also produced a few tracks, and are still trying to freshen them up, for they are rough around the edges. Look for Altered Beats shows in my calendar. All in all, music is my life, and it always has been. I love Dallas, and its party people. Some say our scene is dying, I say its thriving, and on the verge. It's a city Im glad to be from, and a scene Im glad to support, and be a part of.
