Toronto based Jamie Kidd is a funk and jazz bassist turned electronic producer and dj. His taste for the unknown and skills as a musician inspire him to take the spirit of live music and improvisation into every performance. In one of the most vibrant electronic scenes in North America, Jamie has quickly established himself as one of the premier techno, tech.house, and minimal dj's. As the resident for Platform and the Box of Kittens events in Toronto, he has performed alongside some of the world's most respected electronic artists including Speedy J, Jeff Mills, Trentemoller, Adam Beyer, Joel Mull, Extrawelt, Tiefschwarz, Radio Slave, Rob Hood, Stacey Pullen, James Holden, Alex Under, Abe Duque, Marc Houle, Robert Babicz, Chris Liebing, Layo & Bushwacka, Samuel L. Session, Gregor Tresher and Nick Curly.
Since 2005, Jamie has released several singles and remixes on labels including Toronto's Thoughtless Music and Reptile Vision Records, California based Monism, and Halifax's Stratagem. In 2006, Jamie joined Frederik Hatsav to form Metalogic. Their collaborations have produced edgy, dynamic and highly rhythmic electronic music, releasing for such labels as New York's Addon, Brooklyn's Hidden Agenda, London's Perc Trax, and Berlin's Nachtstrom Schallplatten. The duo’s EP's ‘Boxed and Warped', ‘Surge Stimulator’, and 'Cabin Pressure' were strongly supported by artists including Perc, Extrawelt, Cari Lekebusch, Tony Rohr, Alex Bau, Technasia, Someone Else, Xpansul, Frankie Bones, and John Selway.
A fetish for bass heavy pulsating sub textures, dubbed-out effects, and long teasing blends, Kidd hijacks your mind on an impulsive journey in and out of deep unauthorized darkness, and manic but pleasurable innocence.
