MUSIC IS LIFE!!!
Calgary-based, Jamie Norman, is set to storm the North American dance music scene. Originally from London, Ontario, Jamie was introduced to house music during the famed warehouse rave days in Toronto and Montreal. Exploring all genres of music to develop his sound, Jamie was heavily influenced by the deeper, darker atmosphere of progressive tribal, taking cues from legends like Danny Tenaglia, Steve Lawler and Victor Calderone. More recently, he has evolved with the industry and is knocking out dancefloors with a stylized, upbeat minimal and tech house groove that has been winning fans all over Calgary.
Not content to just be in the booth, Jamie's passion for electronic music led him to create Mejastry Entertainment, a groundbreaking event production and promotions company that has locked in some of the best new talent in the world to visit Calgary.
2009 looks exciting for Jamie as he focuses his energy on productions and continuing to educate and build the growing underground electronic music scene in the city.
Jamie has opened for DJs like Tom Stephan (Superchumbo), Joachim Garraud, Dirty South, Cedric Gervais, Martijn Ten Velden, Patch Park, Funkagenda, Richard Dinsdale and Shiloh at multiple clubs in the city. He currently holds a residency at two of the city's best house nights. A weekly Friday at SoHo's (Release) and a monthly Thursday at Habitat (Tech House Battle Royale)
