DJ J ANGEL is a DJ with a variety of taste in House, Hardcore and Drum & Bass, and has been influenced by DJ’s all over the world. DJ J ANGEL started his trade during the mid-90s by playing Hardcore at the Rocket Club in Holloway Road, London in 1995. As 1996 approached, he played his first House set, ironically in The Angel Islington, North London, and proceeded as resident DJ in the Sanctuary club Watford, North London. Friday nights also saw him take the stage in Drum and Bass alongside MC Stamina at the Paradise Club, in The Angel Islington(London). A residency House set in Heaven followed together with his first House set in Ministry of Sound. Then he played for a year in his native Ireland in clubs such as sir Henry's Cork and temple of sound Dublin was part of spreading the rave vibe at such a young age to his own neck of the woods sort of speak. The list of events goes on of the past 10 years...
After playing out in Australia in such clubs as the Daily Planet in Oxford Street and the Sugar Reef club in Kings Cross Sydney, J Angel has established himself on the London scene as an up-and-coming DJ to be reckoned with, not just in deep house beats, but soul and bass-beat house. With such mixes as the Power House CD, a selection of tunes with a measured Jazz beat, which rolls into over 70 minutes of a pure and exciting journey into House – as it was intended to be heard.
In his own words: “I have witnessed the rave scene throughout my career and always felt there was something I could bring to that scene, but most of all I have respect for the music itself. Now we are in the 21st Century club scene and the rave is in the club, bringing House to the people as a one-to-one experience which I’m very proud to be a part of . My selection of House ranges from funky Bass to Soul and Jazz and Drum'n Bass with a rhythm to please anyone who dares to listen! For me, Drum'n Bass and House music is a journey into a futuristic musical engineering era, which changes in accordance with the DJ responsible for the mix – and that’s me."
But now I have to be incharge in my own sounds and hand it to Good DJ's to mix it with the pleasure I had making them!!.
Now DJ J Angel is back and after taken 3 years out he is here to stay to Invent some new sounds on the Drum & Bass scene with a new project for 2008; working on making his his own sounds which I'm sure you will agree are The Bollox!! the man himself has a good team to support him, but in my view he doesn't need it as his mind has a wealth of inspirational Ideas of his own.
Also look out for House projects 2008/9 with a new ambient set like you have never heard before.Bring on the Future!..
We wish him every success and look forward to the tunes that he creates for the future sounds of what is DJ J ANGEL.
