Sounds Like
I have to admit, I like a bit of the fluffy vocal sound. But, like many people I know, I have a deep dark side as well.
Many times, I enjoy a spin down memory lane, kick into some pumpin progressive house and end the night a bit on the trance side. That can depend on the way the room is reading....so I do my best to make sure the ones workin up a sweat keep movin until the music stops!
When it comes to burning a trail toward to the top, DJ Jason Horswill has proved himself to be a rising star in the Nation’s Capital.
Originally, he began spinning in the mid-90s while serving the United States Air Force. Being stationed in consecutive overseas locations, England and Panama, he was immersed in two different cultural settings, which amazingly had strong similarities in one particular scene: Club Music!!!
Music filled with vibrant beats and vocal tracks that kept the energy pumping on the dance floors from London to the Panama Canal. This style has stayed with him throughout the years and will undoubtedly grow stronger.
First moving to Washington, DC in 1995, Jason got his first taste of a true metropolitan nightlife. Venues such as Tracks, Badlands/APEX and Nation were places where some of the best music and entertainment could be found.
In the late 1998, he briefly moved to Atlanta and rarely missed a weekend at Backstreet, Atlanta’s premier nightclub featuring some of the best DJs from all over the country. (And the music influences continued to grow.) Moving to Arizona in early 1999, he kept in touch with the music scene.
In 2002, it was time for him to come home to Washington, DC. Shortly after returning to life inside the Beltway, he accepted a position with a local nightclub, where he still works as a bar tender and manager. Some of DCs finest DJs play every weekend, which reignited his interest in music.
In January 2006, he joined the local record pool (OMAP), insuring that he would stay in tune with the latest music releases. Making CDs on his computer for his friends and the nightclub, he diligently strived to get that ‘first’ gig! In the fall of 2006, it finally happended, Jason was added to the roster for a Sunday evening party in Adams Morgan, DC.
It didn’t take long until Jason was noticed by other venues. In April 2007, he became the Wednesday and Friday night resident at Club Chaos. In the fall, he DJd for the annual Gay and Lesbian night at King’s Dominion, an amusement park located outside Richmond, VA.
Jason is the Wednesday Resident at Halo and appears randomly behind the wheels at the Green Lantern He has opened for such talent as DJs Hector Fonseca (NYC), Alexander (LA), and Josh Gram (Dallas) as well as being of the DJs for the annual Cherry Weekend in DC. Jason appeared @ Cloud 9 in Rehobeth Beach, Delaware on three different weekends summer 08 and plans on this summer to be no different. His next party is Presidents Day Weekend @ Pasha in DC He will also be apprearing during the annual Cherry Party, although details have yet been settled...stay tuned
