I don't think that global warming is a "backwards" concern. I think that the overriding concern is that people need to take responsibility for themselves and their decisions and to respect themselves and others and their environment. If everyone did that, then most of the concerns, including: violence, hatred, environmental issues, education, etc... would be not only greatly reduced, but possibly even eliminated. What it comes down to is that so many people just think that they are entitled to do or take whatever they want without any consequences. Entitlement, in my opinion, is truly the root of most problems.
