DJ Jean presents Madhouse At Ahoy, Rotterdam - The Netherlands
No other concept in dance history has been as durable as DJ Jean presents Madhouse.
Jean was already one of the most versatile hip-hop DJs in the Netherlands when he caught the new house virus in the late 1980s. Manfred Langer had just opened the legendary iT in Amsterdam, and asked Jean to take over the Friday night show in this club. Madhouse was born and quickly grew to become the hottest club night in the Netherlands, if not the world. DJ Jean's faultless choice of tracks and his perfect feel for the public have brought many dance floors to a state of ecstasy. The series of iT CDs that Jean and his fellow resident Marcello have released was not only the best-selling CD series of the 1990s, but also brought about the definitive breakthrough for house music in the Netherlands.
The reputation of both Jean and Madhouse grew steadily throughout the 1990s. Madhouse parties in clubs such as the Lexion, Matrixx and Escape were all great successes. As a producer, Jean has scored a number of big hits throughout his career, but the worldwide success of The Launch astounded friends and foes alike. Millions of copies of this essential classic have been sold around the world. Jean travels the globe to bring huge crowds to a state of ecstasy, from Russia, Germany, and England to South Africa and Surinam. For many years, DJ Jean's prestigious Madhouse podium has been a popular draw at important festivals such as Dance Valley and Trance Energy.
Thanks to his successful radio show on Slam!FM, he has also earned a following among the youngest generation of clubbers. Wherever you go on a Friday or Saturday night, you're sure to find a car with DJ Jean @ Work blasting from the speakers. While most DJs from the early days of house can only be found at 'classics' parties or have retired from the turntables completely, Jean is still one of the most-booked DJs in the country. And now it is time for him to take the next step.
On 21 February 2009, Sportpaleis Ahoy will transform into the largest club the Netherlands has ever seen: a gigantic podium, detailed decorations, state-of-the-art laser, light and pyrotechnic effects, the sexiest dancers you will ever see and everything else you can imagine. This Madhouse will completely surpass all previous editions – from iT to the outdoor podium at Dance Valley. It will be an unprecedentedly decadent club experience that you will never forget. What's more, DJ Jean will be supported by some of today's very best club jocks, who will turn Ahoy into the biggest, hottest and coolest club the Netherlands has ever seen.

This includes the incredible dutch ID&T parties Sensation , Innercity, Mysteryland and the infamous Dance Valley by UDC! All parties that host crowds of more than 40.000 people. Festivals this size he also played in Australia, Poland, U.S.A., Russia, Germany, U.K., South Africa, etc. etc.!
As we all know by now, DJ Jean's carreer started out as the dutch mix and scratch champion back in the late eighties. Since then he won 6 BEST DJ AWARDS at several elections in Holland and around the globe, and was more than 15 times nominated on occasions such as the Silver Star Dance Awards in the UK, TMF Awards, Basic Groove Dutch Dance Awards, etc..
His productions also gained worlwide fame with legendary anthem "The Launch" on top, selling over 1.000.000 copies worldwide! His power and popularity is mainly caused by his technical skills and his abbility to play very groovy and pumpin club as well as trance and hardstyle.
These days he is more active then ever with several club residencies all over the country, a very successful radio show every friday night at Holland Nr. 1 radio station 538, and more bookings nationally and internationally then he can handle.
