Following his inauspicious beginnings playing at small events and private parties around Ireland, Carlow-native John Gibbons initially began to garner attention for his individual and energetic DJ’ing style and crowd-interaction, fast-tracking his way into the public consciousness and quickly gaining a massive following in his home country.
Gibbons began to broadcast on Irish pirate radio, hosting shows on legendary pirate stations Kiss FM and Nova, before making the transition to legal terrestrial radio in 2005. He is now host of Ireland's biggest dance-music radio show 'Club Educate' which broadcasts twice weekly on Dublin-based station Spin 1038. He also presents ‘Club Educate Global’ which is syndicated to radio stations around the world. John’s weekly ‘Club Educate’ podcast is also massively popular, with over 60,000 worldwide subscribers.
Gibbons gradually rose to international prominence as a DJ under the stewardship of Mark Reeder of infamous Berlin label and management company MFS, with word-wide DJ appearances spanning six continents and loyal fan-bases developing in countries such as Ireland, the UK, Poland, Czech Republic, Slovakia, Holland, Poland, USA, Russia, Canada, Brazil, Argentina, France, Spain, Germany, China, Australia, Mexico, Luxembourg, Sweden, South Africa, Hungary and many more.
Gibbons' production career began in 2007 with his first three tracks, 'Engorged', 'The Urge' and 'My Norca' signed to Mark Reeder and Corvin Dalek's 'Flesh' label and receiving critical acclaim within the international dance community as well as garnering attention from the world's biggest DJ's.

In 2008, Gibbons teamed up with Cork native Scimon Tist and together the penned the track 'Beautiful Filth' which was released on UK label 'Tekelec Recordings'. 'Beautiful Filth' was a massive hit word-wide, gaining massive international support, most notably from BBC Radio 1 before topping the Irish dance charts and crossing-over into the Irish commercial pop-charts, peaking at No. 22. The track received constant support from the international DJ A-List such as Paul van Dyk, Judge Jules and countless others and was licensed to the world’s biggest-selling dance-music compilation of 2008, ‘Gatecrasher Immortal’.
Since then, Gibbons and Tist have collaborated on and scored notable success with dozens of remixes and original projects on international labels such as 'Bonzai' (Belgium), 'Fraction' (UK), 'Sunset To Sunrise' (Netherlands), 'Digital Remedy' (UK), ‘Arteria’ (Mexico), ‘CGI’ (UK), ‘ESP’ (USA), 'Ego' (UK), ‘Phase Seven’ (UK) and Irish labels ‘Full Tilt’, ‘DXR’, ‘Invisible Agent’, ‘Stampgevaar’ and ‘Psychonavigation’. Remixes have included tracks by acts such as Paul Webster, Tigran Oganezov, Tiny Magnetic Pets, Mr. Sam, Corvin Dalek, Sander van Doorn, Thom V, The Act, Hi-Gate, Tatoe & Groove, Allan O’Marshall, Jan de Jong, iED, Ferry Corsten and many more with consistent support from international heavy-hitters such as Tiesto, Armin van Buuren, Paul van Dyk, Paul Oakenfold, Judge Jules, Scot Project, Sander van Doorn, John O’Callaghan, Gareth Emery and countless others.
Gibbons’ own ‘Club Educate’ label launches in November 2009 with worldwide distribution and monthly releases confirmed until late 2010 with contributions from established artists such as Paul Webster, Tigran Oganezov, Vizu, Jan de Jong, DJ Mog, Layman & Rice, Ed Whitty among others.
John currently holds down current residencies in France, Germany, Spain, USA and Dublin super-club Tripod, as well as for clubbing brands 'Godskitchen', 'Letrik' and 'Planet Love' and is currently managed by Steven Gérome, through his own 'Club Educate' promotion and production company.
Gibbons has also made forays into the world of TV presentation, co-hosting the massively popular 'Prodrift' show on Irish national station TV3 and Setanta and writes a regular clubbing column for Ireland's biggest-selling daily newspaper 'The Star', as well as regularly featuring in the international dance-music press.
