If you are yet to hear the name 'Jon Allegro'… well, let’s just say you will do shortly, even if you only casually bathe in the warm oceans of House Music culture. 24 year old Jon is set to send waves through the industry this winter as he packs some more quality productions under his ever flexing belt, and presents himself on a larger scale than ever. If you take a trip to a couple of the world’s most revered dance floors in coming months, you likely catch Jon at their helm. Music has been an integral part of the rising star’s life: born with the music bug buried deep his eardrums, he built a large and eclectic music collection from the age of 10 which referenced reggae, house and some candy pop too bad to mention (it was Spice Girls). Owning decks since the age of 11, Jon quickly got to grips with mixing before heading off down the production route, with his latest killer release 'Jack Jones' recieving Radio 1 support from none other than "Judge Jules". Jon’s not afraid to polish the work of others, either, having recently finished remixes for Ant Brooks, Adam S, Miami Ice & Scott Langley to name a few. Other recent projects include a mix of Dennis Ferrer's 'P 2 Da J,’ which was released on ‘Bar Grooves - Disco Heat’ last October time. Having honed his trade warming up for some of our scene’s most well known stars (Tongy, Dave Spoon, Judge Jules, Groove Armada, Eric Prydz) Jon's ear for production is well informed. Playing in England and Ibiza alike for a few years now, summer '06 was the first time Ibizan punters were subjected to the sound of Allegro when he played at Es Paradise for Pukka Up. This led him on to his first full season in 2007 when he achieved a much sort after residency at Kanya, as well as a residency at Hush for La Vita and guest slots @ Eden, Privelege & The Zoo. 2008 also saw him make the final of DJ Magazine’s DJ competition at Turnmills, London. Through his years on the circuit he's rubbed shoulders as an artist with Armin Van Burren, Dave Spoon, Judge Jules, Pete Tong, Groove Armada, Eric Prydz, Jo Mills, Chris Lake and played nights including Kinky Malinki, Judgement Sundays and Manumission, so there’s nothing questionable about the man’s skills. He’s even spun in the rising House Music capital that is Dubai, at 360, and at Dreamers in Marbella, meaning you could just about join dots around the whole world with each one representing a dance floor rocked by Jon Allegro. There you have it, then. Now, when you undoubtedly hear someone talking about Jon in the near future, you’ll already be in the know. Welcome along.
