"Its all about the groove and the basslines... For me every track starts with the beat, followed by or in combination with the basses. As a DJ Im looking for new defined combinations of electronic music. And this is what I like to produce. The tracks are made for the dancefloor, but wont fit probably into any music pigeonhole. ...At the end of the day, I just like to play..."
JOOLS career started in the early 90ies. Since
then he played every possible variation of electronic
music, influenced by breakbeats and house.
As DJ he buys music by gut feeling.
He plays electronic dancefloor music. He likes
different types of music and he don't likes to be
categorized. Of course JOOLS can be "defined"!
Also he uses filters to be able to make a choice
between the huge selections. On the other hand
the parameters are very flexible and change often.
For him music is away to express emotions and release
energy. He likes to discover new mixes and to
play music styles which unite peaces of music that
are newly defined etc. For the choice of his DJ set
he takes into consideration the club location, the
music theme of the evening and his ideas of a
"workable" collection of music peaces. He runs with friends two partylabels in
Switzerland called
SCHUBROOM and
HÄD BÄNGER.
