Kane Ian has been DJ-ing and producing deep, funky house music since
the late 90's.
His love for spreading his style of house music, seamlessly incorporating funk,
soul, jazz and whatever else catches his fancy to jack the party has allowed
him
to make rounds in the local club circuit at venues such as Centro, Home, Attica,
Hacienda and Phuture to name but a few, as well as international ones in New
York
City and Brooklyn where he headlined clubs - The Tank and Laila Lounge. He was
also invited to play at the 'We Love House 2nd Anniversary' party at Zouk, Singapore,
where his own productions were performed with live vocalist, Elisha.
Over the years, Kane Ian has held residencies at venues such as Liberte, Kazbar,
Happy and Majestic Bar. He has also been featured on radio stations such as
Stellar
Music, Singapore's Lush 99.5 FM and internationally acclaimed Proton Radio on
Mike
Constantini's radio show ‘Flux', where well-known artists such as Marcelo
Castelli and
Anthony Pappa have also been featured guest. He has also been on SS Radio based
in
the UK on "House Party Crew Presents..."
His break came when his remix for
the Quirk burglar's "We Ain't From Chicago (Kane
Ian Bump A Tech Mix)" released on Clean House Music was well recieved, making
it to
the top charts in USA on premier digital record store, Stompy. Most recently,
his other
remix followed suit to the top charts with Sona's Sugawata (Kane Ian Anymore
Remix).
When he is not traveling, Kane Ian is kept busy in the studio with production
and remixing
work. He composes music for international labels, Clean House and Trendy Mullet
where
he has released music alongside producers such as Soydon, Roshan and Demarkus
Lewis.
His latest remix is for Magik Johnson's "Come On Girl" which is out now on Blockhead
Recordings.
Kane Ian currently resides in Singapore where he founded boutique
house
music imprint "Dustpan Recordings" which has gained an international following
featuring
remixers and artists such as UNEAQ, J.Caprice, William, Dave Miller, T.B.F,
Sona, Dave
Allison, Quirk Burglars and JT Donaldson.
Ian's music alongside releases from Dustpan Recordings has gathered plays from
some of the
top djs in the world with artist such as Mark Farina, Ken from ECB, The Littlemen,
Lawnchair Generals, Joey Youngman and Derrick Carter to name a few.
In 2008, Kane Ian attended the annual Winter Music Conference in Miami where
he held a
Dustpan Recordings party alongside fellow house music label Clean House Music.
The party
at the Chesterfield Hotel went from 10am to 5am the next morning featuring an
amazing roster
of artist such as Cubase Dan, Homero Espinosa, Kingsley Flowz, Jason Merle,
Giano,
Brandon Black and many more. He also performed at Montreal's Kinjo Music party
at the
WMC.
Kane Ian's musical taste is widely in demand with in-store performances with
fashion house,
Armani, the launch of Pure Charity at Privé and as Music Director for
Majestic Bar in 2008
where he performed extended sets weekly. He has also performed for exclusive
invite only
parties such as G.H. Mumm F1 Party Singapore, Tanqueray, Veuve Clicquot and
many others.
