My fascination of mixing developed as a young kid, experimenting with
old belt-driven turntables, tape decks, drum machines and my parents eclectic
record collection, composing compilations by mixing Sly and The Family Stone
and Gil Scott-Heron with the likes of The Eurythmics and Marvin Gaye. By the
age of 10, I was well and truly hooked on the art of vinyl digging and Hip Hop culture.
Although my interest in turntables began with Hip Hop, I also share a love for other
musical genres including Funk, Soul, Reggae, R&B, Brazilian, Jazz, 80's, Afro Beat, Latin and generally any thing with soul and substance. Originality, vocals, lyrics, flow and the music all play a big part.
I grew up listening to artists such as Grandmaster Flash & The Furious Five, Sheila E, Prince, Sugarhill Gang, Dennis Coffey, Ramsey Lewis, Rose Royce, Isaac Hayes, Augustus Pablo, JVC Force, Lyn Collins, George & Gwen McCrae, Muddy Waters, Billie Holiday, Stevie Wonder, Rakim, James Brown, Public Enemy, Lonnie Liston Smith, Rodriguez, Miles Davis, Parliament, Slave, Joni Mitchell, Afrika Bambatta & The Soul Sonic Force, Kool Herc, Steve Miller Band, Koolism, Blondie, Earth, Wind & Fire, Kool Moe Dee, Cymande, Eddie Brickle & The Bohemians, Donny Hathaway, Sting, Beastie Boys, RUN DMC, Bob Marley, Steady B, Cold Crush Brothers, Renegade Funk Train, Def Fresh Crew, The Roots, Grace Jones, Curtis Mayfield, Native Tongues, MC Lyte, BDP, Stetsasonic, Sly Stone, Little River Band, Jimi Hendrix, EPMD, Roberta Flack, Get Fresh Crew, Fat Boys, Steely Dan, Azymuth and many, many more.

Knee deep in the art of mix cds, soundtracks and compilations, both licensed and out the trunk, this brother comes with eclectic machine gun Funk. Over a decade in the game, a desire to express himself and the artists he's feeling in the mix. From States Of True Skool, the official Tommy Boy Sampler and an ode to The Wake Up Show to Soul Symphony, Rapture and Goodness, they're all highly rated mix cds. Fashion week soundtracks such as the Josh Goot sound scapes and the Charlie Brown catwalk mix are also amongst his repertoire.
Kav's mixing skills and unique track selection never fails to hit the spot. His
passion and professionalism has made him a respected and valued figure in the
Australasian music industry and wider club scene.

In 1997, Ackshun Entertainment introduced O-ii-shi, a Hip Hop jam to Sydney. No
attitudes, just smiles, styles and rare kicks for miles. Party people that are passionate
about their music and getting down for the Funk of it. O-ii-shi's unique low-key cool
