Kinetic P
(Dave Moipolai) is a globe trotting DJ based in West London and has performed at
several gigs in cities such as Paris, London,
Birmingham, Joburg, Gabz,
Dubai and recently in Bangkok & Saudi Arabia delivering deep/soulful/tech sounds
to those in need.....
Born at the
capital city of Botswana in Southern Africa – a place in the world that has
embraced the house music genre from around the world since the first records
were produced in Chicago and New York in the late 80s; he began DJing in 1989 and first real gig in 1993 with his brother. Armed
with two turntables, a tape player and a 2 channel mixer and little all else,
he delivered his passion and soul through the house music sounds, and
inspiration by great producers/DJs of the world such as Kerri Chandler, Lil'
Louis, Steve "Silk" Hurley, Trouble Men (DJ Fudge & Bruno
Banner), DJ Yass in Paris, Karizma,
Bob Sinclair, DJ Gregory, Larry Heard, Mark Kinchen,
David Morales, Frankie Knuckles, Paul Johnson, DJ Duke, Jazzy B (Soul II Soul),
Eric Kupper, E-Smooth, Masters at Work, to name a
few.....
“Deep & soulful house music and
the art of mixing have been the activity I pursued with a passion since then to
date.”....
He is not
only a DJ; he’s also a computer engineer in the telecom industry. In year 2000,
he accepted a role of Technical Project Manager for a technology firm in ..Paris..; relocated to ....Paris....
and staying there for four years he developed friendships with a number of very
well respected producers/djs in the city. While based
in ....Paris...., he made
several guest appearances and some residencies at Club La 11 Scene, Cafe OZ,
Cafe de la Plage, Wagg, Queen, Cafe Puple Ace, and Rex Club and at the Parisians main dance
music radio station “Radio FG”. He has also participated on the only House
music conference in Botswana sponsored by Alliance Françoise and Orange in 2005
and was a member of the panel with DJ Fudge and DJ Yass
from Paris.....
In 2004, he
moved to London from Paris, and since then he made guest appearances and
residencies at SeOne, Babalou,
Scala, The Mass, Yacht Club(Temple
Pier), Alibi Club, Neighbourhood Club, Camden Palace,
The Spot in Covent Garden, House FM, an organizer of one of the most
anticipated events in London; The Summer Boat Cruise parties along River
Thames, to name a few.....
He is a
regular face on the ....London....
scene, hanging out at his favourite nights such as
Defected / Strictly Rhythm parties, Soul-Heaven, Need2Soul, SoulLogic,
SoulMates and BBE.
