Born and bred in New Jersey, K.O. began his career as a DJ at Rutgers University. In the fall of 2003, he moved on to promoting parties in New York City. It was here where he met many musicians who he would later collaborate with, giving K.O. the confidence that he could one day make a career in music. He used this momentum to his advantage, creating mixtapes, putting on shows around New Brunswick, and ultimately creating Elementality Productions in 2004.
Elementality Productions was started as an outlet for talent within the New Jersey area. Through his experience in the scene, he pooled together artists within the area to create a cohesive vision. The Elementality Productions team currently consists of himself, the producer Analogic, and Silent Knight and East, two MC’s.
It was 2006 when he ran into John Robinson, who, after a few conversations, saw the quality that DJ K.O. would add to the Shaman Work roster. As K.O. says himself, his goal as a DJ is to see the big picture, to be an orchestrator by putting the best rappers over the best beats. “Perception is Everything,” K.O.’s first project for the label, is available on iTunes. The EP features such rappers as Phonte, Royce Da 5’9, and Masta Ace. DJ K.O.’s first full length album entitled “Picture This,” was released on September 23, 2008.
I work at Pandora and your album has been floating around. I think it's fucking brilliant. I was confused at first since you didn't produce it, but your ear for beats and MCs made a more cohesive album than almost anything I've heard in the last 5 years. Great work, really well done
JUST STOPPING BY TO SHOW SOME LOVE AND SAY HAPPY NEW YEAR.....HOPE ALL IS WELL IN 2009... LETS BRING THIS MUSIC THING TO THE TOP FAM!...AND YOU ALREADY KNOW...IF YOU NEED BEATS...GET AT ME...press
Word! This is the type of album I wanted to hear, for about 3 to 4 years! :D Str8 Hip-Hop beats, 9th Wonder influence but who gives a fuck!? :D Albums like these are treasure, pure gems that today can not be found on the market. Major PROPS for SOMEDAY. The weather is good, sky is blu, sun is shining, that stupid rain stoped and I'm playing that track over, and over again. Great 80's sample (I guess?) with fat drum line. I LOVE IT!
