MySpace a place for friends

Well, it's been a year now (March, '06) since I actively started to participate in the glorius world of DJ-ing and club music. This time last year I was getting my first gigs thanx to DJ Jay-C and his Radio Deejay. In fact, I'd like to thank him right now for supporting me and believing that I was actually worth something. Now to get back on track, it all began back when I was 11 and then some, when I started making compilations for my friends at school, focusing especially on dance music as if I wanted to "spread the word" 'bout something I just discovered. Couple of years later I discovered that just listening to other people's music doesn't do the trick... I wanted to try and make something of my own, something with what I can reach out to people, try to make them understand me (and to get the chiks ;). So I got to making sum music.

At first, it was something to brag about but later on I became a bit protective about my music and wanted to keep it for myself. I didn..'t care much for other people..'s opinion. When I made a track of my own, I could listen to it for days or months. After a while, sampling sounds wasn't good enough for me anymore and I wanted more... So I discovered Reason and began really creating real melodies, loops and basslines (that particular period was my transition from dance to trance!). That was when I learned about trance as much as I could by listening to live sets from PvD, Armin van Buuren, Tiesto and such. Then DJ-ing caught my ear and that was when I discovered house music.

I had my Virtual DJ and lots of music and DJ-ed mostly on my friends' birthday gettogethers and such but actually I didn't know much about it. Before I knew it, it was 2005 and someone named Josip Curkovic (a.k.a. DJ Jay-C) started a DJ Academy here in Zagreb. It was the "Radio Deejay Tuborg Green DJ Academy Croatia". Being curious, I applied for the second generation of DJ wannabes and newcomers. I must admit that I was overwhelmed with information and met a lot of good fellas there. Some of them were already DJ's looking for a boost and some were just interested as I have been. And so it all started rollin', it was my first contact with real DJ equipment and real house music. I was sucking in every word and every beat on those "lectures". By the end of the year and the Academy, Jay-C noticed that I could spin and rock so he sent me on my first gigs in Posh, Osijek and Extravaganza, Varazdin as a tryout. Although those gigs were mediocre, people liked me and Jay-C kept calling me for some more gigs. The turning point was in August '06 when I performed on the biggest club gathering in Zagreb, the "Future Sound Of Zagreb" held in the cult Zagreb club "the Best". It is a yearly event with over 3000 party freaks where all main electronic genres are supported: d&b, Techno, Trance, House & Retro-Electro. That was as far as Jay-C could push me through. After that, some calls came in, a TV appearance and my first club residency in the Zagreb club called "Crazy Horse" (just the name is the same, it's not the cabaret ;). This is where I am now, filling saturday nights with house music of my choice and doing underground gigs here and then.

I hope that more will come. More significant gigs and colaborations with other DJ's. Hopefully, doing something international stuff and so.
