Kox Tortuga is graphical artist and legitimate pioneer in the Buenos Aires hip-hop scene, having performed back in ‘92 as an MC for the founding fathers of the genre in this country: Los Adolfos. He was also part of several other projects like SK84Life and Tumbas, before dropping the microphone to focus his skills on the turntables and the mixing board. In 1999 he joined Buenos Aires’ underground hip-hop sensation La Organización as a guest DJ for their live shows. A couple of years later La Organización mutated into the more progressive electronica/hip-hop supergroup Koxmoz with Kox-T as their main beat producer and DJ. Meanwhile he released an instrumental hip hop/electronica album under the name Deep Taboo thanks to which the local press named him the Argentine DJ Shadow. Currently, when he’s not busy working as a renown graphic designer, he spends his time exploring his hometown authentic sound, tango, for his new side project: KOMPADRITOZ. Kox T : Otro personaje clave en la historia del hip hop nacional. Dio sus primeros pasos a comienzos de la década pasada como front-man de Los Adolfos (la primer banda de rap argentina) para luego pasar a formar el grupo SK84Life y más tarde liderar el exitoso proyecto Tumbas. Tumbas fue en su momento sinónimo de vanguardia en el hip hop argentino y apadrinados por Zeta Bosio llegaron a presentarse en el escenario de Soda Stereo abriendo su show de despedida en 1997 frente a 60 mil personas. A partir de la separación de Tumbas en 1998, su líder, bajo el pseudónimo de Tortuga comenzó a ganar reconocimiento propio como DJ, participando de todas las raves más importantes del país y musicalizando selectos clubs de la noche porteña( CLUB 69/NICETO/PERSONAL FEST/MINT/PEPSI MUSIC/CREAMFIELDS/BUE FESTIVAL/OYE REGGAE/JAMAIKA REBEL ). En el 2001, bajo el nombre de Deep Taboo editó un disco de hip hop instrumental y experimental que obtuvo excelentes críticas de la prensa especializada a nivel internacional. Tras la separación de La Organización, se reúne con Apolo y el Agente Xecreto para conformar Koxmoz. El será entonces el encargado de aportar al Koxmoz su incomparable estilo musical, albergando las rimas de los dos MC..s en sus volátiles climas espaciales. - Se acaba de publicar en Inglaterra el compilado Beginner’s Guide To Tango Lounge, de la disquera Nascente e incluye dos temas de electrotango instrumental compuestos por DJ Kox Tortuga y Trini 7Dub (músicos del Koxmoz), juntos forman el team Kompadritoz .(http://www.demonmusicgroup.co.uk/Product.aspx?ProductID=3259)>
