Nightshades on DI.fm - 1st Wednesdays 1-3pm CST, progressive channel
There are very few producers who managed to put their first production on a
track-listing from a Radio 1 Essential Mix. Even fewer can claim that feat
after being featured by Sasha, and to top it all off, during the Delta
Heavy launch party at the WMC. It was no surprise that this debut production
from Kris "One for the Road" was quickly signed to Hope Recordings,
and was followed by the formation of the live electronic group Grayarea. Following
a highly regarded guest mix on John Digweed's Kiss FM 100 show, AM Only picked
up the rights to represent the group in North America, and Grayarea took to the
road for several headlining US tours. Kris found solo success in
his new home of Los Angeles, quickly becoming a resident for Spundae and Godskitchen, while his first
solo production "Last Minute Flight" reached number one
on the Balance Record Pool chart, and was included on Nick Warren's Global Underground 24: Reykjavik.
A few years and several number one chart singles later, Kris is back in the Midwest, shacked up in
the studio and aggressively pushing his agenda of on-the-edge, quality productions. His imprint Nightshade
Music has quickly risen through the ranks, mainly due to Kris B's relentless pace and a keen ability
to place music in the right places in the industry.
Kris has been able to achieve through a simple
philosophy of working smart. His debut Grayarea single was initially self released, giving Kris the opportunity to make the right connections and learn the proper channels to promote his music. That first release topped the UK Buzz and Balance Promote Group Record Pool charts, receiving support from
Sasha, John Digweed, Pete Tong, Paul Van Dyk, Dave Seaman, Timo Maas and Hernan Cattaneo, and was included on several compilations. Grayarea went on to release tracks and remixes for Bedrock, Silver Planet,
Distinct'ive, Hybrid, John Digweed, Steve Porter & Thrill Kill Kult, with compilation apearances
on Tiesto's "In Search of Sunrise 4", Ferry Corsten's Ministry of Sound, Global Underground and countless top DJ charts and playlists.
Perhaps the most refreshing part of his success is the dedication shown to the vision of
artistic future in personal life. It is a never-ending story of young artists making it big at first, then slowly fading
away into our residual consciousness, and finally disappearing forever to some cubicle shaped reality that some
insist on calling "real life." Kris has shed all the artificial life ideas that our society drills into us
every day. "Cold turkey" is the best way to get it done and after launching Nightshade Music in February 2008
he has never looked back. He has dedicated all his time to studio work, managing and promoting the
label, and extensive touring of his eclectic funky DJ sets. Expect to hear anything from Rick James to Moby, 2 Live Crew to Kraftwerk,
all mixed fluidly over a bed of infectious melodic house, progressive, techno, whatever he can fit into the groove. Kris has reached several recent milestones as a DJ, producer and label owner. 2009 marks his second appearance on the flagship
Global Underground mix series (Darren Emerson GU36: Bogota),
with tracks also featured on chart topping compilations from Armada Music
(Simon & Shaker: Surfaces Vol. 1 and Blake Jarrell: Concentrate),
and hit singles on respected labels Baroque, Ready Mix
and his own Nightshade Music imprint, with top talent enlisted
to remix his work: Manuel De La Mare,
Tiger Stripes and Mazi. It should come as no surprise that this recent string of hits has kept Kris in demand at clubs across the US, Europe and South America.
Kris's scope is not limited to the dance music industry, having recently licensed music (co-produced with Grammy nominee
Bill Hamel) to Konami's 10th anniversary edition of "Dance Dance Revolution", and other commercial
music clients including Beck's Beer, ESPN, MTV's LOGO Network and Falken Tires. Kris hosts the monthly mixshow Nightshades on DI.fm and Protonradio.com, with the Nightshades podcast reaching thousands of listeners each month. Past guests have included Desyn
Masiello, Paul Harris, Dirt Crew, Pako & Frederik, Thomas Gold and a rotating roster of label artists and supporters. Kris has held residency for Fuel on XM 80, was a regular guest for
D:Fuse's XM radio show and Chicago's legendary 'Sonic Boom' show on Q101. Kris has performed at clubs and festivals across the globe; Ultra, Area:2, Vision (Chicago), Vinyl (Denver), Vanguard & Circus (LA), House of Blues (Las Vegas) to name a few.

We feel this release is one of our best so far and serves as a good reminder of all the reasons we got into techno in the first place.
Tristy Nesh strikes back with an electro house burner. Have your crowd ready to dance and prance. Guaranteed !!!
Includes a hammer remix by Internal Sync, our powerful Portuguese duo, known for their minimalist stomping techno approaches to ruling the dance floors (appearing on Datapunk, Klang Gymanstik, Broque, Kritik too).
Lars Sommerfeld on the other hand delivers a funky tech house alternative to the above, convincing with his fat basses and clever and honest beats.
