San Diego, CA. USA native D.J. K (a.k.a. Rob Kaechele) has been busy carving mix after mix, remix after remix, live set after live set into the tapestry of dance music for over 15 years.
Beginning with his remixes of David Bowie’s “Let’s Dance” and the timeless Air track “All I need” all the the way through countless remixes for other current artists (Azam Ali, Lower East Side, David J., etc.). The list goes on and on.
The list of mix disc releases date back to 1998 with his first release with Big Cheetah records “States Of Mind”, then “The Energy Within”. D.J. K then partnered up Janine Johnson, a cartoon comic book artist that was set to release her series “Raver J.” at the prestigious Comicon event. The result was the first sound-scored comic book release for any modern comic book series. Soon after came the Flashcash compilation series where D.J. K soon became the dominate mix talent for the label (releasing 4 editions to date).
Which brings us to the current release “Pulses” that is soon to be released (street date late March 2008).
It’s a mixture of what D.J. K considers to be the pulse of the underground dance music revolution. With it’s minimalist electro sounds, mixed with gritty, funky, sometimes dark, sometimes urban, sometimes retro sounds of pure body shakin’ power!!! It’s a journey through sound that can soundtrack the emotions of today.
As he incorporates his style of cutting, mixing, and live music skills (with the added help of his live music set partner Shawni Young), D.J. K will continue to put his fingers and skills where they belong, on the Pulse of sound!!!
