L1 was originally born in Calgary, Canada. She moved to Honolulu, Hawaii in 1995. While on the island, she played at many prominent underground Hip-Hop clubs. Her musical roots stemmed from years in training both in piano and singing. At the age of 12, L1 was a member of the Canadian Mount Royal Choir which ranked 8th in the world.
Growing up, she was heavily influenced by music. The urban culture around her was the largest influence of all, being inspired by graffiti art, breakdancers, Mc's and of course, DJ's. Inspired by all of these elements, L1 finally purchased Technics 1200 turntables. A quick study and hard worker, it was no time before she started making mix tapes for friends around town. It paid off one day when one of her mixes fell into the hands of Flash, a prominent club director who offered her a weekly residency on his busiest Hip Hop night. For the next 2 years, L1 would continue to grow as a DJ, playing at several venues in Hawaii until the day House of Blues, Las Vegas came calling, offering her a residency.
Since relocating to Las Vegas, L1 has developed a style all her own, blending real Hip Hop with Motown, Funk, R&B, Reggae, Rock, Alternative, 80's, and House. During her time in Las Vegas, not only has she created a large following, but her career has flourished taking her to nightclubs in Aspen, Arizona, Lake Tahoe, Miami, Los Angeles, Philadelphia, Memphis, Baltimore, Bahamas, San Francisco, House of Blues in both South Carolina and Cleveland. L1 is slated to perform at various other locations all over the country.
In addition, L1 had a successful swimsuit modeling career that has taken her all over the world. She has modeled for many prestigious companies including Hawaiian Tropics, Playboy, Baywatch, Reef Brazil, Muscle & Fitness, and Miller Lite...just to name a few. Such exposure led her to become a regular U.F.C. ring girl on Pay-Per-View television. Her ring girl image was also used in Sony's Fight Night 2005 video game. As well, the exposure led her to be crowned Miss Hawaiian Tropics for the state of Hawaii 2 years consecutively.
Her impressive Djay resume includes Djaying privately (and opening) for many other prominent A-list clients such as Prince, Elton John, KISS, Mixwell, the NBA, Tiger Woods, Chanel, Akon, Pitbull, Mc Hammer, The Real-World Suite LV, VH-1, Larry Graham, Maceo Parker, Roy Ayres, War, Guapole, Esthero, Doug E. Fresh, Eric Cubechee, Steve Aoki, Lauren Hill, Mickey Avalon, King Britt, Chuck Treece, Dave Attell, Dane Cook, Tera Patrick, Tony Hawk, John Huntington, Sandra Bullock & Jessie James, and others. L1 was also exclusively chosen to be a resident Djay for Prince at his 3121 club in Las Vegas. L1 has been featured in Vegas's 944 magazine, Las Vegas Weekly, Los Angeles Weekly, numerous radio adds, and is one of the faces of the House of Blues.
You can catch L1's sets at the prestigious House of Blues at Mandalay Bay, Voodoo Lounge at the Rio, (52 floor above the strip with breathtaking views!), at the classy and upscale Blush Boutique at the Wynn, and at Las Vegas's favorite local venue, Blue Martini in Town Square.
