Jane started DJ-ing in 1995 in her hometown, Leuven, spinning soul and funk music in small bars. The mid-nineties were the peak of the Chicago House movement, which Jane had then discovered and became fascinated with. Encouraged by her DJ friends who recognized her deejay skills and musical taste, Jane quickly became one of the first female DJs of Belgium. She played at the famous Food Parties in Leuven, along with renowned DJs like Kenny Hawkes, Stacey Pullen and Derrick May.
By the end of the nineties, Jane grew more interested in electro music which was not yet popular. Although electro records were not easy to find then, she changed her musical style. Being a pioneer, she started receiving booking proposals all over Belgium and abroad: Jane played in London, Amsterdam, Berlin, Paris, Spain with Miss Kittin, Felix the Housecat, Ellen Alien, Kiki, Vitalic, Tiga, Blackstrobe, I-f, Ladytron, 2 Many DJs, Dr Lekrtoluv, Electric Indigo, Michael Mayer and many more.
In 2002, Jane wasn't satisfied with Brussels’ nightlife and decided to organize her own party, which she named « Catclub ». Although the party was initially created for her friends, it quickly became successful. Since, Jane has organized 38 Catclub parties in various locations (Brussels Royal Yacht Club, Rick's Boat, IMAL Center for Digital Art...), each time attracting an arty trendy public. Some of the DJs she has already invited include Pantha du Prince, Justus Kohnke, Ada, Daniele Baldelli, Matias Aguayo, Jennifer Cardini, Felix Da Housecat, Spacid, Jeremy P. Caulfield, Heiko MSO, Marc Romboy, Rob & Zoopsie...
Nowadays,
Lady Jane also works as a musical consultant for clients in fashion such as Levi's, Delvaux, La Cambre Mode, Zadig & Voltaire, Bellerose, Prive Joke, ...
She also organizes parties for art institutions, among which the Brussels Biennial, Art Brussels, Wiels Center for Contemporary Art, Jan Mot Gallery...
And she does the bookings for one of Brussels most amazing bars, Café Fontainas
While her musical taste and culture has always evolved, Lady Jane's style has remained unique: melodic, sensual and soulful.
