Lady Lites favorite music as a child was black music like soul, blues and especially reggae. In 2000 she fell in love with drumnbass/oldskool jungle and started to buy records.
It took her only three months to leave an impression on the dance floor. She didn't only immediately became a resident dj of late Four In Trance (4IT), The Zoo, PussiesTraxes and Muziek-O-Droom (MOD) but also started co-organising Illtown, Underground and Tsunamica parties at places like castles, caves, mining buildings, hotels, open air,... Meanwhile she was co-running record store JJ Records-Hasselt and some time later she opened Illtown Records.
Now Lady Lite is one of Belgiums foremost female djs and worldwide raggajungle djs, mostly accompanied by the soulful mc Mary Jane.
She represents crews like Dedkob (B), Junglistic Sistaz (A) and Hard Step Sistaz (UK). She played at several big Belgian festivals like Pukkelpop and Rock Herk and shared decks with names like R.A.W. aka B-Boy3000, Capital J, Krinjah, Remarc, Aphrodite, The Panacea, Bong-Ra, Twinhooker, Paulie Walnuts, Tester, Debaser, Amadeus, Chopstick Crew, Total Science, Usual Suspects, Krust & Die, Matrix, Dom & Roland, Gremlinz, Loxy, Jega, FFF, Eye-D, Hidden, Noizecreator, Amboss, X&trick, Mz.Revolution, ... in Brooklyn, Manhattan, Ottowa, Montreal, Toronto, Romania, Belgium, the Netherlands, Germany, France, Poland, Serbia, Switserland, Czech Republic, Portugal and Israel.
BIO MARY JANE
MC Mary Jane was born in France, raised in Belgium. This little girl got big. Nowadays she is considered as one of the best emcees in Belgium.
In her teenage years, Mary Jane got fascinated and inspired by drum&bass, reggae, hip-hop, jazz, soul and blues. This influenced her to start singing and rhyming herself. It became a part of her. Now she's studying to be a jazz singer in Antwerp.
The big trip started when her closest friends convinced her to take it a step further: meeting and hooking up with Lady Lite in 2002. Since then Mary Jane has been singing throughout Belgium, The Netherlands, France, Czech Republic and Poland, on festivals such as Pukkelpop, Rock Herk (where she got invited on stage by Freq Nasty) and Festivibe, Illtown events, national radio Studio Brussel and many more.
Except for forming a duo with Lady Lite, she sings in a Belgian hip-hop band called Rhymedealaz. In 2006, they released their first album 'Leaving the Flock'.
Next to this project, she also features on some drum&bass -releases of Belgian dj Lady Vortex, which had a lot of airplay on the Belgian national radio Studio Brussels in 2006 and 2007.
She loves getting the chance to see, learn from and collaborate with colleges in the drum&bass and raggajungle scene worldwide, 'cause they tickle her creativity, lyricism and give her inspiration. The crowd on the other hand gives her that "high"!

Soooo.. let's see.. I'm Belgian with Ukrainian and Spanish roots and apart from that without any doubt one of the most normal gals you can meet (at least that's what I think of myself! And don't worry -I don't care what you think! hehe) I'm always up for a laugh and very fond on my cat Oi*Polloi, my homies Mary Jane, Crossstasher, Free, Antik, Wasp, D.O.C., Dconvict, Sarah, Johnny, Oxidizer, Jaffe, Eline, Divine, Sara, Tati, Dimi and the raggajungle family across da world :) Love you guys!! We a happy family! Things in life I'm into are music, more music, mixing for a wild crowd, the crisping sound of a record, art in a lot of forms, travelling, promoting, organising events, parapsychology, fairies, braiding, capoeira, classic ballet, teaching art to toddlers and teens, vegatarian food (yummmm!) and euhm.. much more music! Wanna get me go wild? Just feed me, treat me like one of the guys and put on some oldskool hiphop, dancehall, raggajungle, raggacore, junglecore, jungle, dub, triphop, breakcore, breaks, dubstep, experimental, ... and I'm all yours! (yeah right!) Next to this my ears love Violent Femmes, Nine Inch Nails, Millionaire, Massive Attack, Kyuss, Barkmarket, Herbaliser, PJ Harvey, Portishead, Smashing Pumpkins, Shpongle, Dead Can Dance, Amon Tobin, dj Vadim, Aphex Twin, Queens of the Stoneage and so on and so on........... Well, this should do it for now :) Oh yeah wait.. one more thing.. I come from the most unpopular part of Flemish Belgium: Limburg -and I'm proud of it!
