Middlesbrough in the North East of England may not sound like the epicentre of the dance music universe, however in October 2003, with the inception of underground house club night *riffraff, Lee Pennington (Section 75) put his two feet firmly on the first rung of the DJing ladder.
Launched initially as a one-off promotional event to help promote his debut release on Source of Gravity Recordings, it quickly developed into an event that would cater for those people who appreciate forward thinking and underground house music.
Over the last few years Lee has fast become a respected DJ / producer of underground house music under his Section 75 and riffraff aliases. He now has tracks available on many independent labels that are supported by the likes of, Hernan Catteneo, Nick Warren, Steve Lawler, John Digweed, Scott Bradford, Paul Van Dyk and many more A list Djs.
As well as his resident DJ duties at *riffraff, Lee was snapped up by Ibiza top party Zoo Poject where he is resident playing his own brand of house to the masses as well as completing a Source of Gravity tour of the USA where he played nine gigs in twelve days. By being part of *riffraff and Zoo Poject he has played with the majority of Europes top respected underground artists.
Recent years has seen Lee taking *riffraff to the world famous Back2Basics club, Shindig club, Sankeys, Area 51 and finally the one and only Ministry Of Sound and he is always consistantly providing exclusive mixes for radio broadcast appearances on broadcasts throughout the world as well as touring and playing at underground partys each week. His latest production accolade was winning the 2020 vision we love space global remix competition that has now put his name alongside top DJ and producer Johnny D who provided the other mix to 2020 sound systems track "Sliding Away".
With DJ gigs coming thick and fast and many more European dates being filled in as we speak, the running of *riffraff, remix and production duties we now look forward to more music from the man in the coming year.
