Influences
With influences ranging from Green Day to Aphex Twin, Dr. Dre to The Pixies, Lobie spins up a mix of genres that defies the norm but still rocks the dance floor with crushing bass, hooked melodies, heady high ends, with a decent dose of glitch. He refuses to just play tracks straight through like traditional DJs and instead throws together bits and pieces of anything he fancies into Ableton Live and tears it up, improvising with reckless disregard. Combining hip-hop, rock, electro, IDM and whateverthefuckelsehewants, layered on top of a heavy base of dubstep whomp and a bit of irreverence, Lobie twists and contorts the sounds he already loves into something that, frankly, he just wants to rock the fuck out to. Turns out, other people rock out to it too.
