DJ Logic began his career spining records in 1989. Hailing from Freeport, New York on Long Island, Logic has been exposed to all kinds of music and was raised on hip-hop from the beginings of it.
Logic relocated to Atlanta in 1991 and began to really sharpen his skills as a Turntablist, and mixer. In '94 Logic made his first foray into production with the purchase of a Roland drum machine, a Gemini 20 second sampler, and a 4 track recorder. He began putting together remixes and adding them to his mixtapes. Eventually the DJ aspect of his career began to take off and he started to focus more on that. As he was making money doing parties and weddings, he also began entering DJ battles and showcases. He landed his first regular DJ gig working with Sparkles rollerskating rinks. He DJ'ed at the Kennesaw and Lawrenceville locations for a year. He then moved onto club work and has played in many of Atlanta's classic clubs like The Warehouse, The World Bar, The Crowe's Nest, Havannah Club, Taste, The Shark Bar, The Uptown Comdey Corner, Taboo, and many others. Logic has also done guest spots on 89.3, 88.5, and Hot 107.9. Logic has been on promotional tours as a DJ for Mountain Dew and Sierra Mist.
In 1999 Logic began to focus a little more on production and started using Acid production software to make his early beats. He progressed on to use other titles like Fruity Loops, Samplitude, and Magix music maker. It wasn't until 2003 that he bagan to rock the MPC 2000 and the 2000XL. In 2004 Logic attended to RedBull Music Labs in Atlanta and was introduced to Reason. Since he has learned the program Logic has been heavy into making beats. He has produced his fair share of local rappers along with Radio commercials for Mrs. Winners. he has had his music licensed for Television shows and other forms of media. Logic is a writer for BMI and has his own publishing company as well. DJ Logic can be seen and heard every weekend at Banana Wind in Underground Atlanta.
