In 2005 Lupe was nominated as Best New DJ at Amsterdam’s Gouden Kabouter Awards. He lived up to this expectation and developed into a versatile house and techno deejay.
He started organising his parties UNK and Acid Nouveau and quickly became an icon of Amsterdam nightlife!
At the age of 12 he started to buy records on early house labels like Jacktrax. These classics provide the starting point for his style and taste.
His deejay sets unite past and present of house and techno, defying genres and bridging the gap between serious music lovers and the popular scene. Simple and infectious - no limits!
His range and attitude brought him successful gigs on parties like Innercity, 5DaysOff, Mysteryland, Putsch, Sensation White and Rauw.
Added to his sophistication, comes his close connection with the party-hard crowd through his past as a club kid and gogo dancer.
These traits did not go unnoticed by more Dutch clubs, organisations and promotors... Lupe was offered residencies on club nights like Vreemd from Soulrock and Galore in the Sugar Factory, FashionRadio in Studio 80, Parkroom in Flex Bar, KitCatKlub at club Home and Zonde in Paradiso!
Also Voidd Sessions loves to invite him, just as Get Physical’s Dj T did for his birthday party at Berlin’s Cookies.
In that same city he threw an extra successful edition of his UNK party early 2008 and starred at Berlin Hilton in nbi!
For his own party Acid Nouveau at 11, Amsterdam’s premier club in featuring new dance styles,
he created the concept through the new acid house-influenced sound, borrowing from the past and including new electro and minimal elements. Guests included A Guy Called Gerald, Kiki, Heidi, Dj T, Argy and Dutch talents like Sandrien and Nuno Dos Santos.
Lupe also likes to operate in other arts and aesthetics. In summer 2006 Lupe compiled and performed the soundtrack to the annual fashion shows of Arnhem's Academy, commonly perceived as Europe's best fashion academy. As a graduate in film studies at the University of Amsterdam, he used his developed sense of mood and timing to rock the crowd with a broad selection from minimal to disco.
A selection of more events and parties where he performed: HQH at Cassero in Bologna, Los Ninos in Brussel, Addicted at Panama, Club Stalker, Waterfront, Girls Love Deejays, LFTFLD. He shared line-ups with Booka Shade, Oliver Koletzki, Martin Eyerer, Tiga, Miss Kittin, Shinedoe, Kiki, 2000 and One, Chelonis R. Jones, the Glimmers, Tommie Sunshine, Scissor Sisters..Sammy Jo, The Detroit Grand Pubahs, Joost van Bellen & Larry Tee.
