DJ Rambo began his career in October of 1993 by playing events at his local high school
(a mere 4 months after his own graduation!). Paired with an old high school and neighborhood
friend they started playing numerous fund raisers for their alma mater.
At that time the only pieces of equipment at their disposal were (2) pioneer 6-disk cd players,
(1) pioneer 100-watt house receiver and (2) optimus 3-way speakers. Fortunately, two veteran
disk jockeys (the well known DJ Shake-n-Bake and DJ Kingfish) were generous enough to loan
DJ Rambo some “seasoned” (i.e. old) equipment that they weren’t using on a regular basis.
DJ Rambo exclusively performed at high school dances throughout 1995. In 1995, former disk
jockey (turned bar owner) Rob Capan approached DJ Rambo to inquire if he was interested in
playing as the Resident DJ at Capan’s bar (which already housed all the equipment and music).
DJ Rambo accepted his offer and throughout 1996 was instrumental in building one of the
hottest local Friday night club scenes in the area. In 1997, DJ Rambo became a student in
beat mixing and remixing under the instruction of DJ Sean Nice. From 1997 throughout the
summer of 2002, DJ Rambo played six nights a week as a regular mobile disk jockey.
This period in DJ Rambo’s career included making special guest appearances with
DJ Kingfish at Nemacolin Woodlands Resort (1999-2002). In November of 2002, the VIP dance club
offered DJ Rambo the opportunity to be its Resident DJ on Friday and Saturday nights
(with DJ Kingfish spinning the tracks on Thursday and Sunday nights).
DJ Rambo was awarded a Community Choice Award in 2002,2006 and 2007 from the Herald-Standard newspaper as
the area’s best local Disc Jockey, and runner-up in 2003 and 2005.
DJ Rambo was also awarded 1st place at the 2nd annual Battle of the DJ's in January of 2004 at Elements Nightclub in Morgantown, WV.
Ok, so being in Iraq is no fun and the only thing that keeps me sane is MUSIC! So here's the deal to all my DJ's out there. I came up with an idea of doing a mix with all of YOU! Interested? There are many of you DJ's I've never had a chance to work with and some of you I've had the privilege to spin with. This mix isn't restricted to just one genre or time limit, so DJ's go WILD! Summer is right around the corner and this mix could be one of the hottest. That is if you throw down a couple tracks. I hope thus sparks some interest. Pretty easy process. I started off the mix with 3 tracks and uploaded to Media Fire. All you DJ's gotta do is download it and mix off the last DJ's track and re-upload it. I recorded it at 192Kbps. For my Windows DJ's you can right click the mp3 and go to the properties. Click the details tab and under the comments section add the tracks you added to the mix. (In order!) Also add your DJ name to the artist area. For my Mac users I have no idea how you access the properties of the track, so sorry. (This guy is a die hard Windows user!!) Any questions shoot me a message on here or email me.
