Born in Manila, Philippines, Martin Aquino was one of those few people consistent in bringing the deep house sound to what he considers the “fatuous folks of The Philippines” (whom some might consider as victims to unintelligent dance music). At an early age of 17, after experiencing what he considered a lackluster scene there that Martin decided to help change the course of the house music scene of Metro Manila by introducing his signature style of deep, funky, and tech underground house.
Shortly after his initial encounter with House music, Martin began collecting records after having found himself a deep appreciation of the sound being played in the local club scene. Having moved to San Francisco in 2006, Martin was able to showcase his skills at numerous clubs and have played alongside many of today’s top djs. Presently, Martin is ½ of the duo “Corporate Scandals”.
To his credits, Martin has played alongside with Miguel Migs, Franky Boissy, Alix Alvarez, Tedd Petterson, Hector Moralez, Nikola Baytala, Doc Martin, Plastic Funk, Dj Fluid, Worthy, Olivier Desmet, Derrick Carter, Hipp-E & Halo, Andy Caldwell, Andrew Phelan, David Harness, D:Fuse, Jay West, Tony Hewitt, Justin Martin, Peter Christianson of the Lawnchair Generals, Christian Martin, Dj Mes, Rick Preston, and Massimo DaCosta to name a few. As Martin continues to grow and enhance his craft, we can only guess where the direction of his Music will take us. With the splendid balance of great passion and sharp intuitive skill with reading a crowd, those of us moving on the dance floor can enjoy and anticipate what’s to come.
The remix comes from Rocco, who's earned more and more attention due to his massive releases on Freerange, and famous remixes of Dennis Ferrer and Claude Monnet.
The main mix is a stunning house tune with a fat kick, and reminds us of Pete Heller’s tracks, while Rocco’s remix is more techy and deep, but brings you the kind of groove you feel in your chest.
