Matt Allen is owner/DJ of ALLEN ENTERTAINEMENT in Lafayette, Louisiana. Visit our company web page at www.allenentertainment.net My personal friends can find me on facebook. --- I started out in radio in Shreveport in the 80's at age 16 and worked as a DJ into my 20's at several radio stations and a night club in Shreveport and Monroe. I attended NLU (now ULM) in Monroe, where I majored in Radio/TV/Film and minored in Jounalism. --- I left radio to run a record store for a while and then drifted into retail sales of audio and video equipment. Somehow, years later, I ended up in a totally unrelated industry and became a claims adjuster (WHAT?!?). The whole time, I was DJ'ing here and there for others, but in 2003 I started my own mobile DJ business, ALLEN ENTERTAINMENT. --- Mostly, as a mobile DJ company, we are providing entertainment for businesses or individuals at events such as Weddings/Receptions, Birthdays, Company Christmas parties, reunions, karaoke shows, etc.. Business continues to grow with repeat customers such as Evangeline Downs, Raising Canes, Citadel Broadcasting, Acadiana Karate, Rage soccer and many other companies, schools, groups and individuals. In addition, Maria Allen is a licensed florist and can help you with your floral needs regardless of whether or not you need our DJ services. --- My biggest assets are my reputation, professionalism and talent for being able to "read" the crowd and play the right music to keep them on the dance floor. I'm also interactive (unless you specify otherwise), in order to keep the party moving and/or to make the appropriate announcements, which many mobile DJ's aren't willing to do. We use only pro equipment, have a huge selection and wide variety of music and offer a great value with our services. Most importantly...WE REALLY CARE!!! --- On a more personal note, I'm married to my college sweetheart, Maria (LeBlanc), and we have 2 boys. I'm originally from Shreveport but have been in Lafayette appx 14 years.
