My interests include Music, Movies, Martial Arts, Hanging Out with friends and family...
I began martial arts briefly in Jr. High School under Sensei Jim Harbor in Bossier City and earned the rank of Orange Belt in Ishinryu Karate but then the dojo moved and I couldn't continue. I was able to get back into martial arts in 2003 after enrolling my son(s) at Acadiana Karate in Lafayette. I also joined and earned the rank of Green Belt in American Shotokan before I had to sit out due to an injury. Both of my boys have been involved since age 4 and my wife has had private lessons. So it has been a great thing that we all do as a family and we are big fans of Acadiana Karate.
Music
I appreciate every type of music but my all-time favorite is 80's. A close 2nd would be newer, hip-hop and dance songs. However, as a DJ, I don't allow my personal preferences to influence my playlists for different events. I play what is right for that particular crowd. I have 1,000's of titles from every genre' and decade available. I am constantly adding new music as it becomes available and if I don't have it, I can usually get it very quickly.

My Dad who died in 2001. He was in law enforcement and was an especially great father. Also, my best friend of 33+ years, Travis, who is the funniest and most talented person I know and who is living out his dream as a professional musician. Also, this guy below who can dance all of these dances is my hero...check it out -LOL

--- I started out in radio in the 80's at age 16 and worked as a DJ into my 20's at several radio stations and a night club in Shreveport and Monroe. I attended NLU (now ULM) in Monroe, where I majored in Radio/TV/Film and minored in Jounalism.
--- I left radio to run a record store for a while and then drifted into retail sales of audio and video equipment. Somehow, years later, I ended up in a totally unrelated industry and became a claims adjuster (WHAT?!?). The whole time, I was DJ'ing here and there for others, but in 2003 I started my own mobile DJ business, ALLEN ENTERTAINMENT.
--- Mostly, as a mobile DJ company, we are providing entertainment for businesses or individuals at events such as Weddings/Receptions, Birthdays, Company Christmas parties, reunions, karaoke shows, etc.. Business has really grown the last few years and we have expanded our services.
--- My biggest assets are my reputation, professionalism and talent for being able to "read" the crowd and play the right music to keep them on the dance floor. I'm also interactive (unless you specify otherwise), in order to keep the party moving and/or to make the appropriate announcements, which many mobile DJ's aren't willing to do. We use only pro equipment, have a huge selection and wide variety of music and offer a great value with our services.
--- On a more personal note, I'm married to my college sweetheart, Maria (LeBlanc), and we have 2 boys. I'm originally from Shreveport but have been in Lafayette appx 12 years.
Who I'd like to meet: I'd love to meet others in the entertainment industry including DJ's, artists/musicians, business owners/managers, radio station staff and celebrities.

I want to thank you for doing our wedding. I've heard more compliments from our guests. You handled everything like a professional. From playing wedding coordinator, b/c ours didn't show up, to asking permission from us when the best man wanted to make a toast. I don't know how you did it, but EVERYTHING ran so smooth...you never missed a beat. When the girls were coming down the aisle and then myself, music flowed like a peaceful little stream... Thank you so much, just can't say it enough. P.S...William loved that you played the LSU theme when he cut his cake and it wasn't even planned. YOUR THE BOMB...DUDE!!!!!
