My name is Matthew. Born 1989 & raised in Toronto. I come from an Italian background. MY love for music started when i was in elementry school. with 2 older brothers heavily into the 90's and 80's music i was surrounded by many different sounds, hip hop, dance, freestyle, euro, reggae, rock. i started out in grade 10 mixing with computer software, also jacking hip hop beats and rapping over them. eventualy i saved up enough money from working at at toys r us, i bought some used turntables and a mixer for 400$ and i got about 30 records with my equipment. i learned to mix without a bpm reader, i only mixed songs with my ears. then i managed to afford a laptop and M audio's torq vinyl mixing software. With my usual bad luck, the washroom on themain floor of my house flooded and leaked to the bassment and soaked my turntables, mixer and records. I spent hours taking apart my turntables and my mixer to clean them out, and my records as well. Sometime in 2007 my best boy kiran took me to a family party and thats where I met his cousin Steve (Madsounds), who was visiting from the states. I showed him some of my cds that night and we hit it off, we got drunk and talked about music non-stop. I told Madsounds i ws into producing music, but didnt know how to. Madsounds showed me the basics of Fruity Loops and i couldnt stop using the program, making new beats was my favourite pass-time, and i just keep getting better. Madsounds and I have been close friends ever since then...and one day Madsounds spoke to me about his idea, World of DJs.
I instantly agreed to participate in his dream. I went to home depot and built myself a set up in my bassment. I also had to buy a Desktop Computer just to be able to mix live. In August i started my weekly show, The Trip Out Session With Matthew G. I spin mostly House and Tarnce, but do not under-estimate my skill, I can mix anything from rock to hip hop. My love for music is the reason I wake up each morning, to finish a track im producing. World of DJs is very succesful, with DJs from all over the globe, its no question why this website is so succesful. All the viewers and DJs get along as if they were family.
To say the least, I had a dream and i chased it. I payed for everything myself and educated myself to become a DJ. With all my great friends supporting me, when I make it to the top, I wont forget a single name to mention because every person supported me in their own way, so thank you all. Id like to give a big shout out to my big brother in Florida, Madsounds, we aint gonna stop till we die.
