Hailing from Toronto, Canada, MelBoogie is one of the country's best-known female DJs. In a career spanning almost 15 years, she has pushed boundaries and took the road less traveled to raise the bar on what is expected from a female DJ. Her roots are deeply embedded in college radio, formerly at CHRY 105.5FM, where she and partner, DJ Manifest, set the morning airwaves on fire for 6 years. She has also co-hosted several events, including Torontos annual Graffiti Expo, North by NorthEast Indie Showcase, Woman 2 Woman Expo, and has been a speaker/panelist at a variety of music industry conferences. She has also done several television appearances, including Much Music, New Music, MTV Canada, Toronto Life, and Fashion Televisions spin-off, Ooh-La-La.

Also a freelance writer, Mel has had the opportunity to interview some of music's finest artists, including KRS-One, Pharoe Monch, Common, De la Soul, Chamillionaire, Jeru Da Damaja, Goapele, Black Moon, Lil' Kim, Flo'etry and many more. Mel Boogie is the resident DJ for Honey Jam and is Canada's FIRST female CORE DJ...She won the 2008 Stylus Female DJ of the Year Award, naming her the top female DJ in Canada and was the only DJ selected to participate in Luminato's Mille Femmes Exhibit, dedicated to Toronto's most inspiring women in the creative arts, presented by L'Oreal. She has opened for touring artists such as Q-Tip, The Cool Kids, Bahamadia and M.O.P.
