Mike Frugaletti began as a performer in a Bay area dance crew and rose to his current status as one of San Francisco’s hottest young DJs and music producers, traversing the broad spectrum of the dance music industry. Whether in the dj booth, the studio or on the dance floor you will always find Mike getting down and doing it well. He is known to many as a true master of the stage.
Frugaletti’s initial passion was for dancing. As a break-dancer he gained the respect and culitivated relationships that would lead to coveted guest dj spots and consistent residencies along the west coast. With his roots already established in clubs, he then made a relatively meteoric rise as a DJ in the Bay area. His chunky, funky house style behind the decks has proved itself on many dance floors from every major club in San Francisco to guest spots in Hawaii, Mexico, Spain, Germany, Brazil, Argentina, Japan and various cities throughout the U.S. Consistently bringing his infectious vibe everywhere he goes, Mike has played along side many A-list house headliners including Derrick Carter, DJ Sneak, Doc Martin, Justin Long, Honey Dijon, DJ Ali, Jason Hodges, Da Sunlounge, Angel Alanis, East Coast Boogiemen, Miles Meada, Collette, Hippie and Halo, Iz and Diz, Lance Desardi, JT Donaldson and DJ Dan.
Mike was brought up with a tough- sounding musical feel that has never left his crate. Frugaletti has kept up with the funky San Francisco sound while mixing in the gritty style that one would expect from Chicago DJs. Never letting up with heavy hi- hats and thumping bass lines his dj sets are definitely a foot moving, head bopping experience. Seamlessly blending classics with today’s best cutting edge production, Mike expertly reads the crowd and creates mayhem on the dance floor every time.
On the production side, Frugaletti partnered up with DJ/ Producer Deron Delgado of Stompy.com to run Good Family Recordings (www.goodfamilyrecordings.net), and up and coming record label based out of San Francisco. Mike has since released remixes on the Good Family label as well as teaming up with the prolific Joey Youngman to release an EP on Blockhead Recordings, one of house music’s hottest labels, under the moniker Special Forces. Frugaletti has also joined the crew of Deep House Project (www.deephouseproject.com), a collective which promotes events and a record label throughout the Bay Area and beyond with divisions in Japan and Australia.
When in Brazil, Mike has been producing original music with the likes of Vivi Seixas ( daugheter of Raul Seixas), Kriptus Gomes (son of Baby Consuelo and Pepeu Gomes), Jamanta Crew as well as many new solo projects.
His roots on the dance floor are evident in both his dj sets and production, resulting in many full dancefloors and high demand. Watch for Mike rocking parties across the globe, becoming a mainstay in the global underground house community.
DJMikeFrugaletti : Hi there, This is an absolutly mass comment, but though its an interesting one! Its about a strictly tech-house release! If your lookin for some catchy and funky tech-house, or a lil deeper and flashy groove, or just the heavy 3 am gear, than you..ll find it quite interesting! :] The EP got some serious support from alot of the music artits in my personal fav list, so i guess that..s another thing that make..s it worth a check.
