Dj Minxx was spoon fed classical piano and organ by her mother, classic rock and percussion by her father and jazz by both. Her adolescent taste was shaped by her older brother, who snuck her into dance clubs at the ripe age of 14, dancing her heart out to 80's dance and nu wave. Depeche Mode, New Order, Erasure, U2, The Smiths, Morrissey, followed by a healthy love of electronica including CHemical Brothers, Crystal Method, Dj Icey, DJ Rap, and DJ John Kelley.
For mixing pleasure, DJ Minxx is deft at spinning HOUSE, especially ELECTRO and Progressive with a dash of tribal and trance. DJ MInxx can also throw down some electro BREAKBEAT and is dabbling in the art of DRUM AND BASS.

DJ Minxx, formerly known as Dj Catharsis (Kuh-thahr-suhs), originally from Baton Rouge, La., got her start under the tutelage of San Antonio's DJ Instafunk, who nurtured her blossoming interest in turntabilism and introduced her to the world of Djing. After getting a taste (and quickly thereafter an addiction) to spinning, DJ Minxx was selected by Dan Matthews of Klubjumpers to open up the night for JES and Klubjumpers, an event that was also broadcast on XM Satelitte radio. Shortly afterward, DJ Minxx began sharpening her skills with the help of Klub Atomix's own resident, DJ Shock. She soon landed a guest DJ spot at KLUB ATOMIX and continued training under DJ SHOCK who introduced her to the technical side of spinning as well as the creative. Currently, DJ Minxx has two residencies; one with underground promoters JUST DON'T STOP and with local fetish promoters, Temple of Flesh, drawing a large local and statewide crowd at their semi annual Fetish Balls. DJ Minxx also plays several times a year in California, both in Santa Barbara and Hollywood.
Her style is liquidy, grimy, acid electro with lots of bass and thumping beats.
