Hip Hop is now generally widespread in Japanese music culture,
and a DJ is one of the most significant element in composing it.
In recent years, as the population of DJs has been increasing,
the DJs are classified into different categories such as a Club DJ,
a Live DJ, a Radio DJ, a Battle DJ, and Mix Tape DJ. Therefore,
DJs must now
manipulate particular techniques and skills corresponding to those
different categories to meet demands.
DJ Missie is one of the most notable, unique DJs in Japan whose work
has been reputed and highly evaluated in such multiple fields
mentioned above.Belonging to the category of Club DJ,
he has spun in the event ‘NO DOUBT’
(being held on every Saturday) at club Harlem on every other
week as well as spinning at some other major clubs such as Asia,
Vuenos, Camp, IZM, and Eggman. He has also performed as a
live DJ consistently for Kaminari-Kazoku, Nitro Microphone Underground,
and B.B. Inc etc.
In 1998, DJ Missie won 1st place at the DMC World DJ Championship
in the Kanto region.
His latest activities include focusing and developing his work as a
trackmaker and offering scratch sounds to various artists. His multiple works
represent his proficiency and creativity, and not many DJs are able to
DJ like him. His works, his DJing, and his everything else are worth exploring.
Now, we are proud to introduce DJ Missie as the most remarkable
DJ in Japan.
