DJSUNITED is the Australian Chapter for the IDA (International DJ Association) formely a chapter of the ITF (International Turntablist Federation). Official web site www.idaaustralia.com
The ITF DJ Battle was founded by Alex Aquino in 1996 to highlight and categorise different skills the DJs had. Past world champs include Babu, Craze, Infamous, I-Emerge, A Track, Woody, Tigerstyle, and Rafik. Past team champs include X-Ecutioners, Beat Junkies, Allies, and Invisibl Skratch Piklz (Q Bert, Mix Master Mike, and Shortkut). In 2006 all chapters across the globe decided the need for a change with new formats and new rules and hence the changes.
ITF chapters have changed to IDA (International DJ Association). The competitors will have 2 minute rounds each going head to head working their way up to the final round battling for the title “2009 IDA Australasian DJ Champion” and to represent at the world finals in Krakow, Poland on 12th Dec 2009. In the same format as last year, we are opening our doors to our asian neighbours for an exclusive invitational battle with only 1 wildcard entry. The battle will take place on Saturday 28th November at Zen, Auckland New Zealand. This will be the first year the Australasian DJ Championships is held in New Zealand and is looking to be quite a showdown with Australia and New Zealand's Heavyweights Battling Head to Head for the title and prizes to the value of $7,000.00

The United DJ Mixing School was founded in 1993 with the aim of Uniting the finest DJs in Australia to form one of the first structured DJ School. Within this time we have experimented and undergone changes to come up with a perfect formula for the students to obtain optimum results, have fun, make contacts, and most of all learn from the experiences of many established DJs. After 10 Years of operating the most successful and longest running DJ School in Sydney, the crew has branched out to Melbourne for the long overdue expansion of the School. Within the last decade the United DJ Mixing School has invited many international guests to teach the art to the young aspiring DJ's of Australia. Guests have included legends that started this whole DJ Culture such as Kool Herc, Jam Master Jay (RIP), and Jazzy Jay.. Members of DJ Crews that have advanced the art of turntablism all over the world such as The Beat Junkies, The Allies, Invisible Skratch Picklz, and The X-Ecutioners. Internationally acclaimed Producers such as DJ Revolution and Lenny Dee. And almost every World DJ Champion including D.J. Cash Money, Q Bert, Roc Raida, Noise, A-Trak, Craze, Plus One, Dopey, and Rafik to name a few. Special thanks to all of you for sharing your knowledge with the upcoming DJs of Australia.
