For those unfamiliar with her work, Mutamassik, aka Giulia Loli, is a producer/musician/dj/artist/synesthete and pioneer of the Sa’aidi Hardcore & Baladi Breakbeat Sound. Her music is a rich broth of bass, hip hop, post-punk and pan-afroarabic immigrant sound sources . After years of dropping heaviness on the NYC hip hop and experimental scene, Loli is currently operating out of a cave-studio on top of a hill in Tuscany (as she describes it living the politics and wrestling with the devils of misanthropy and the angels of hope).
