Straight out of Virginia Beach is an artist Hip-hop fans may be familiar with in a totally different role. Dout Gotcha is more identifiable behind the turntables as DJ to the Clipse for over 7 years.Now having already established himself around the world from Japan to Milian back to the U.S. now he wants to change roles.Gotcha! has been on tour with hip-hop's biggest stars from "50 Cent to Jay-Z" and even got a quote from Jay-Z("HE KNOWS HOW TO ROCK A ARENA")
It is his passion for riding a beat with vivid lyrics that brings him to your attention today.
Having watched the emergence of Hip-hop since a young age, Michael Joyner has been developing his word play and delivery since the tender age of seven. He recognizes the talents and styles of some of the most memorable names in soul and Hip-hop as being his encouragement in leaving his mark on the game. Names like Big Daddy Kane, Kool G Rap, and the Notorious B.I.G instigated his popularity of being the best freestyler throughout middle and high school. Obviously seeing the reaction his talent had on his audience made him realize that he was doing something right.
Hoping to bring the focus of Hip-hop back to the East Coast and particularly Virginia Beach, Dout Gotcha wants to enhance the game with his story telling. "The story has only been half way told, I need to tell you my side of what I have seen," he explains.
Having achieved some of the things people only dream of in his role as a DJ, Dout wants to continue this journey as an artist and with his unique style, delivery and wordplay it is time for another star to start shining.
Being able to catch a beat and ride it like nobody else isn't a talent in today's Hip-hop world, it's a blessing. With real emcees being overshadowed and ousted for similar sounding artists, Dout Gotcha will have your ears open as he spits his first bar. His knowledge of what moves a crowd thanks to his alter-ego as a DJ, has him picking the hottest beats. He knows how to mold the crowd and work the crowd until they are nothing more than putty in his hands. He pays attention to the intricate details that many emcees leave down to their A and R's. So to cut to the chase, Dout Gotcha would be a valuable asset to any label that can respect his art, his knowledge and his uncontrollable drive.
