Taken from the eagerly-anticipated debut album "Six Against Eight" the sizzling single is out on the dctone label as a pre-Christmas cracker.
THE CONTESSA is a hip-shakin' instrumental screamer that is already detonating dancefloors across Europe with its Hammond & horns attack that leaves you breathless with its amphetamine-like attack.....
SNAKE CHARMER's foxy vocal from Karla Milton complete with risque lyrics and a fizzin' psychedelecised groove hammers home the message that DC Fontana are serious contenders.
Produced by long-time Julian Cope guitarist & producer Donald Ross Skinner, mixed by his younger brother & ex-Primal Scream drummer Gavin Skinner and recorded at Echo & The Bunnymen's studios in Liverpool, England, this double dose of sonic medicine is the perfect tonic from the usual stale festive fare on offer.
The digital format should be available on all the usual sites including I-Tunes, Amazon, Napster, Play.com, HMV, Tesco etc....
And the physical vinyl comes on deluxe HEAVYWEIGHT vinyl to weigh in with a punch.....
The album will follow sometime early in 2010 (dates to be announced) either as downloads or a pristine CD complete with a deluxe booklet.
Join us this coming Friday 30 October when Dig Deeper brings the four surviving members of Chicago soul group the Green Berets for their first NYC show ever, and first show anywhere in nearly 20 years, this time backed by the Divine Soul Rhythm Band, who will also be opening the night backing the sassy Sweet Divines. As always, DJ Honky and Mr. Robinson spin soul and funk 45s for the dancefloor before and after until 4am.
