Dj Phil has been a DJ for 20 years with his roots tracing back to Chicago, Illinois. While in high school Philip became known to many in Chicago as the Infamous DJ Phil. In his early years, DJ Phil gained an appreciation for a variety of music genres including: hip hop, rhythm and blues, reggae, old school, house and the blues. As an expertise with these different types of music early in his career, many opportunities became a regular event for this up and coming DJ.
After graduating from St. Francis de Sales high school, he continued his education at Grambling State University in Grambling, Louisiana. Even though DJ Phil€™s first love is music he obtained a Bachelor€™s of Science Degree in Computer Information Systems. While attending Grambling, he joined Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity Incorporated and the Order of Ancient Free and Accepted Masons.
After graduating from Grambling, Phil€™s career as a DJ took him to Dallas, Texas where he is currently showcasing his talents as a DJ and producer for two radio stations in market #4 (KBFB €“ 97.9 The Beat and KSOL 94.5) DJ Phil€™s career has allowed him to DJ in many major cities including Miami, Las Vegas, Seattle, Houston, Atlanta, Milwaukee and San Diego just to name a few. Internationally DJ Phil has moved crowds as far away as St. Thomas the Virgin Islands. DJ Phil€™s has also mixed for the Bud Biliken Parade which Southwest Airlines proudly sponsored him, NBA All Star Weekend, Super Bowl XXXVIII, the Cancun Memorial Jump off weekend, many Bayou Classic events, and he is the regular DJ for the National Association for Black Journalist.
