Princess Lea began her DJ career in Brighton where she co presented a Radio Show under this pseudonym, the name stuck and so did her passion for making people dance. She continued to produce and present radio shows for local Pirate and community radio stations as well as organising her own club nights in both Paris and Brighton. She moved to Paris in 1998 and became Artistic director of Underworld Café. She now co-runs the venue Project 101 in Paris and is resident DJ for the after parties and club nights ' miniboum', and is now producing her own tracks and remixes. Princess Lea is fast becoming a European representative of her unique style of mixing that leaves pools of sweat on the dancefloor.
Style:
Influenced by her Brighton days, Lea has developed her own style combining the contemporary sounds of Nu School breakz, the more traditional sounds of club house, a pinch of electro with a bassy dirty techno vibe thrown in. Her impeccable beat mixing creates a journey into dancefloor sound without any creases. She describes this as "Breaking House" -
'DJs have got very traditional in their mixing techniques, often sticking to one sound throughout their set. I like to break the rules, dance music is a constant developing hybrid of sounds and I like to explore these in my sets although there is one common factor: big bass-lines.
