Our violence toward ourselves and the planet is an issue that overshadows and makes a mockery of all our high aspirations. -The Biology of Transcendence, by Joseph Chilton Pearce.
Hi my name is Michael. I am a good person. I am prideful that I will not deceive you. I will not steal from you and I will try my best to respect you. I do not believe that I am better than you. Nor do I believe that you are better than me.
I post a blog everyday called Daily Inspirations. I hope that you will read it. I hope more that you will respond to it. I do not believe that what I say is right. I only strive to be right. My goal is to convince you that goodness will save you. That honor and respect, as widespread social virtues, are necessary to the survival of humanity. That we share this existence together as equals, no matter the status with which we are branded.
If the majority of human kind fails to see this, then we will inevitably destroy ourselves. Nuclear war, chemical war, biological war... As our knowledge of the world grows, so will our ability to extinguish it.
If we destroy ourselves, not only will we have made a mockery of our high aspirations, but the very evolutionary steps that have brought us to such a high achievement of understanding will have happened in vain. Everything that you or I have done in this world will have happened for nothing.
If humanity is destroyed, our planet and our solar system will disintegrate void of its achievement and purpose. All that will remain will be the energy that once embodied us, doomed to repeat its unimaginably long history once again.
If you say that the world will end anyway, whether we influence it or not, consider the purpose of evolution. Consider that life, in its ability to reproduce, is the holy grail. Consider the speed of our technological advancement. The sun will turn into a red giant in about 5 billion years and expand to further out, beyond Earths orbit. When this happens every thing in its path will turn to cinder. How far will we advance in that time? (considering that Jupiter and Saturn will continue to protect us from meteors and comets). What will come first, destruction of our planet or the technology for relocation to a more suitable planet? What should come first? Or are we simply to dangerous to deserve preservation?
