Bio
I'm an artist 1st and foremost. I express myself through visual and audio means. Known in DC as a versatile turntable master holding down a wide spectrum of sounds, running the gamut from hip hop, old school classics, r&b, reggae, soul, fusion, 'grooves', pop/rock, go-go, and the like. I'm a hip hop head straight up. I love the culture and its history. That love made me interested in music in general so I study and appreciate a wide range of flavors. .. The study of the craft and its developments have afforded me opportunities to teach hip hop/ DJ workshops, notably with Words, Beats & Life, The Midnight Forum, and Guerilla Arts Ink. .. I've been doing my thing in the clubs (incl. 9:30 Club, Black Cat, club MODERN, recently places like Liv and Wonderland Ballroom), various parties and events, etc. I co-produce the hip-hop radio program "Ill Street Grooves" on WPFW 89.3 FM and share airtime on WPFW's "Holla Back" show with my man DJ Tru and mic personalities Mazi Mutafa (WBL, Inc) and Noodles. .. I also do my thing with Hueman Prophets, rocking all over the country. I've also worked [work] with Asheru & Blue Black of The Unspoken Heard, SPP (Storm the Unpredictable, Priest Da Nomad, and PoemCees feat. DJ Stylus), Opus Akoben, AKIR, Kev Brown, The Package (Noyeek the Grizzly Bear, One2, and THeory), SlimKat, DCompose, Dirty Water, LaeLo Hood, Mr.MoJo, RNL, Heron Gibran, Mr.Vic aka Enoch, Cy Young, Pro-Chi, J-Sands (Lone Catalyst), Cornbread, Wade Waters, and many other acts in the Greater DC area. .. -
