When I was 13, I convinced my parents to buy me a dj set up for $3,000 with the promise I had to pay them back. I paid them back in 3 months with the help of weddings, quinceneras, and school dances. I grew up in Barstow, CA where the population was about 20,000 people. I've now played shows that hold more people than my hometown. I scored an internship at LA's Power 106 when I was 18 thanks to my mom finding an ad in the back of a Mix magazine in my high school library. I've been at Power 106 ever since. I now have a mixshow 7 days a week at noon called "The Power Party Mix with DJ Reflex". I also have a hip hop show Wednesday nights called "The Takeover" at midnite. By the way, I was calling myself "Reflex" before I started djing because I thought I was a rapper. The rap career has yet to take effect. In my years of djing, I have traveled the world, launched music careers, performed on television, produced records, and I threw my back out once. "You may recognize me from such shows as.." (Phil Hartman voice) The Tonite Show with Jay Leno, Ellen, American Idol, Sharon Osbourne, The Wayne Brady Show, Craig Kilborne, The Emmys, and recently the 51st Annual Grammy Awards. I've toured with many artists most significantly Kanye West who I happen to be friends with in "real life". Now, I play residencies all over the world, produce records with Warryn "Baby Dubb" Campbell, spend time with my family and enjoy life everyday.
