Back in the 90’s, during a so called alternative age was still on its best era in a small little town in Indonesia called Medan. When dance music is a proscribed thing, even in people’s thought, Rico has returned from overseas where he spent his time for studying. Bringing up the talent that wasn’t even talked about in this town. Gathering round a small community, which later known as Batser Crew. Later on, he, and some mates began to held small local gigs and parties just to form a dance-scene, from nothing. Starting from spreading he’s own flyers, organize an owned private party, only by intention to gather more people and dance music lover.
Although at his first gigs, he had to play different genres, but deep in his heart, basically he stands for the word “House” genre. With, small exploration in that genre, from sexy deephouse, rich vocal garage-house, to massive distorted bass lines, which people called electro nowadays. As in for him, that’s his final limit, do not expect him to spin more hardcore. Uniquely, he’s far more excited to watch his audience stirring some small moves while happily throwing satisfaction laughs, rather than watching the people spin their head, jumpin’ high and screaming madly. Some of his collaboration was a remix tune from an indie pop band in Medan. Releasing a track called Party (Here we are), the track succeeded reaching the 1st place in a local’s Medan radio program called IndieFive. By this time, he still has the desire to produce his own music. However he has to keep that for a while since he’s an ordinary man with a natural 9-5 employment time, that keep preventing him to share his time between a normal-day-life and wicked-nite-life.
In my call, people can throw their doubt ness when he’s already spinning on the booth, from b’day party, promnite, product launching from mall to mall, club to club, basement to rooftop, he’s doing it all with a big smile. He’s a total clown with some lousy crunchy jokes but equipped with toons of talents. So mates, get ready for his housy-catchy-musical-flow at the next gigs.
