My name is River Edén aka DJ River. I live in Stockholm, Sweden! I was born in 1979 in a small town up north of Sweden and moved to Stockholm when I was 20 y/o.

I’ve been into all sorts of music since I can remember. But through out the years I've become more and more interested in the electronic music genre.
And today, Im totally addicted! There is nothing better than a day filled with music, in other words; the meaning of life! :)

It all began in the early 2001 (before I decided to become a dj).
Back then, I was starting to get really tired about the fact that almost every cd I bought, wether it was a mixed cd or a single artist, only had 2 or 3 tracks that where good, and the rest just crap! And whenever one finally did manage to find a cd with at least a few more great songs than that, they usually fucked it up by blending too many different genres or had bad mixing.
So, I abandoned the traditional music store life in order to try to find something more suitable to ease my need for quality. I started to search and download mixed sets on the net, just to find out that even there I couldnt find a reliable source to fill my musical needs. Well, I did find some quality stuff, but the truth is that the majority of online dj mixes are almost by default based on low quality, bad mixing and not to forget; low bitrates(!) who wich oftens is the cause to the final & instant deaths for most mixes, even the promising ones.
My conclusion: The commercial music market = sucked (and still sucks). Low bitrates = mix killers!

So, when I thought all hope was gone, thats when the idea was born - I decided to do it all myself. I had the material already from years of music addiction. And I had the vision of how I wanted the music to be arranged. My goal at the time was not to become a dj. I simply just wanted to create mixes the way I wanted mixes to be like. And strictly for my own private use. But then one day, something funny happened..
I had just finished my very first mix Ambient Chillout Mix 1 (Summer 2002) that I by accident had putted in my 'shared folder' on my computer when I got my first personal message in my filesharing program. The message said: "Hello, what a wonderful mix! -are you DJ River?" -At first, I didnt give it to much thoughs, except that I enjoyed the feedback. But the messages continued to increase, and no one seem to be dissapointed about my work. Thats when I started to think; "Well, if people really like what I do, maybe I should do something more to please them!". The time was now early 2003, and people had started to ask if I had a website where they could get to know more about me and my work. Well, a couple of weeks later I decided to start build a website, and with my limited knowledge in html I did manage to create a couple of pages where I briefly presented myself and my work. This was shown to be really succesfull. The years past and my mixes grown in number, along side with more visitors. Everything went so fast and I didnt even realize the fact that I was becoming more and more popular. Even today I still have a hard time understand it all! *lol* But I do truly enjoy it! ;)

-I'm very passionate about my work, and it keeps growing stronger everyday! And mostly because of the great support from the people that have followed me since the beginning!
